About this role

The Director, HR Projects will be responsible for planning and delivering strategic projects to improve the North America regional HR function in alignment with global HR objectives.  The role will also lead the execution of organizational change initiatives, as well as develop regional HR reporting and analytics capability to assist in business decisions, critical discussion and continuous improvement.
The role would suit a seasoned HR professional who likes project work, collaborating with others and has a strong systems and analytical skillset.
 

This role will consist of

  • Lead, plan and deliver regional HR projects to optimize HR efficiency and service delivery
  • Support the design of organizational change initiatives and lead execution across the region in partnership with corporate and site HR
  • Provide strategic direction to embed the Americas HR Service Delivery model, working cross-functionally with corporate and site HR teams to optimize service and improve the employee experience 
  • Act as regional project lead for global HR projects, ensuring local context is considered in program design and execution
  • Represent the North America HR function on cross-functional initiatives and projects validating people-impacts and contributing to change management efforts
  • Lead regional HR planning and budget process, actuals reporting and full potential tracking
  • Develop regional HR reporting and analytics capability to assist in business decisions, critical discussions, and continuous improvement 
  • Lead regional workforce planning activities to enable pro-active and effective workforce management (i.e. absenteeism management)
  • Lead the review and management of regional and site HR policies and procedures
  • Collaborate closely with site HR teams on HR programs and practices, providing mentorship on successful operation within the operating model
  • Lead all aspects of and assess the regional HR budget and take vital corrective actions to ensure HR Departments’ activities are within the approved, specified budget parameters

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of previous experience in Human Resources for multi-cultural companies
  • High complexity industry experience is helpful
  • Solid experience in project management
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational development and cultural change
  • Ability to interact at different levels of the organization (partner management)
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead sophisticated projects and manage associated change: detail oriented and able to work with high complexity project scope, able to identify interdependencies in project activities, capable to implement and control project progress.

  • You establish and maintain strong peer relationships and effectively partner with the organization. You influence others by establishing trust and credibility
     

Working conditions and location

  • The position is located at the North America Regional Office in Vancouver, BC
  • Position may be required to travel to sites within the region and Denver corporate office
