This position will lead the Mine Asset Management Initiatives while providing strong direction and strategic guidance to subordinates. This position reports directly to the Mine Maintenance General Foreperson while working closely with Mine Operations Personnel to ensure departmental alignment with key operational objectives.

Purpose

 

With support from Mine Operations and the Mine Maintenance General Foreperson, the purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of the Hoyle Pond Mine Mobile Maintenance to ensure that work activities are performed in the safest and most cost-effective manner, by motivating, providing guidance with safe and strategic work practices to continuously improve the departments safety and work execution performance and capability.

Essential Duties

Training & Experience

 

  • Holds a Certificate of Competency in a relevant trade and/or an Engineering or Technology designation, accompanied by formal work experience relevant to Underground Mine Mobile Equipment Maintenance.
  • A minimum of 10 years of maintenance experience with surface and underground mining mobile equipment including Mine Rescue & Emergency equipment, Light vehicle fleets, Loading and Hauling equipment, Production and development drills, Shotcrete Equipment, and all other mine production and support equipment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Mobile Maintenance Supervisory experience in an underground mine with demonstrated experience mentoring and developing Subordinates
  • Be technically competent, with the ability to listen, inspire and develop team members with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to continually improve, motivate, and effectively lead others to achieve individual and organizational objectives. 
  • Must have SAP ERP experience at an advanced level, including proficiency with all modules associated with enterprise asset management and plant maintenance.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite and be accustomed to leading, organizing, and chairing virtual meetings including creating and performing formal workshops and presentations. 

Working Conditions

 

  • This position is located at our Hoyle Pond Site, part of Newmont's Porcupine Mine located near Timmins, ON.
  • In this role you will work a 5x5x4 schedule, which means we do need you to live near the mine site.
