Dimensions
This position is located at the Hoyle site and has no direct reports, however the incumbent is expected to apply their expertise to collaborate cross functionally and across various levels at the property to develop safe, reliable and challenging mine plans. This incumbent will further ensure regulatory and inter-company procedural compliance and measure performance and effectiveness of existing designs and systems. The role reports to the Mine Engineering Supervisor.
Purpose
The Mid-Term Planner role has site based scope and is responsible for delivery of mid-term mine planning work packages and quarterly updates to the mid-term mine schedule at Hoyle. The incumbent may take on responsibilities related to medium-sized mining zone evaluations with particular emphasis on creating feasible extraction plans as well as support other PGM planning teams
Essential Duties
Promoting Safety and Sustainability
- Align with Fatality Risk Management protocols at all sites
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement in safety by reviewing existing engineering designs and new designs
- Review plans and designs for regulatory compliance and compliance to Company policies, procedures and standards
- Promote and adhere to Company environmental and sustainability policies
Mine Planning and Mine Design
- Complete and review mid-term mine planning and mine designs to increase value to operation
- Develop budget mine plans and support company business planning exercises
- Develop high confidence quarterly forecasts to support mine production
- Liaise with Geotechnical and Geology teams to incorporate distinct guidance into mine plan
- Provide guidance to operating departments to maximize production, plan their activities and accurately measure key mining parameters
Training & Experience
- Preference for Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and in good standing order with PEO, or equivalent in other jurisdictions
- A Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
- A minimum 4 years of mine operation and engineering experience
- Be technically competent and have a good understanding of key business drivers for gold mining
- Deswik.IS skills are strongly desired
- Experience with Xeras would be an asset
- Have strong communication and people skills Be focused, clear and decisive
- Able to impact and influence in order to gain the alignment of the engineering and operating teams
Working Conditions
This position is located at our Hoyle Pond operation near Timmins, ON
The schedule is 4 days on. 3 days off.
