This position will report to the Dome Plant Maintenance Supervisor.
Essential Duties
Safety Expectations
- Is responsible for his/her health and safety.
- Will correct or report unsafe practices or conditions.
- Maintains a safe and healthful place to work.
- Make suggestions to improve any aspect of safety.
- Learns and follows the safety rules and procedures for the safe performance of the job.
Main Duties
- Diagnose and repair Mill & surface mechanical-related equipment
- Work with minimum supervision in a team environment
- Adhere and comply with all company policies, procedures, standards, and legislative requirements
- Troubleshoot, disassemble, & repair all components of various mine equipment
- Duties include welding, rigging, & moving heavy equipment
- Shift work & weekend work will be scheduled as required
- Participation in a rotational “On Call” system is mandatory
- Must provide own tools and have adequate tools to perform tasks
Training & Experience
- Must possess valid Red Seal Certification
- Good knowledge of compressors, pumps, and hoisting plants including conveyances, ropes, loading stations and shaft work, rail equipment, and hydraulic systems such as rock breaking systems.
- Must be able to plan, lead and perform jobs safely and efficiently with minimal supervision in a team environment.
Working Conditions
- In this role, you will work a 4 x 3 schedule (Tuesday to Friday)
- This position is located at Dome, part of Newmont's Porcupine mine site near Timmins, ON.
