This position will report to the Dome Maintenance Electrical Supervisor.
Purpose
Newmont is looking for a skilled Electrician to join our team at the Dome mine site. The successful applicant must have worked in an industrial environment.
Essential Duties
Safety Expectations
• Responsible for their health and safety
• Correct and report unsafe practices and conditions
• Maintain a safe and healthful workplace
• Make suggestions to improve any aspect of safety
• Follow all Newmont Porcupine safety policies and procedures
Essential Duties
• Responsible for troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and performing predictive and preventive maintenance and instrumentation equipment.
• Responsible for compliance with OHSA, Corporate and Porcupine Environmental Regulations, Safety and Sustainability Standards and the Electrical Safety Authority
• Responsible to work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals both within the department and cross-department
• Must be highly motivated, organized and must be capable of decision-making
• Responsible for providing own tools
• Assisting in other works areas may be required
• Available to work Dayshift and Nightshift

Training & Experience
• Successful completion of apprenticeship contract and successful completion of trade tests through the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development and Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act.
• Must hold an Ontario Construction and Maintenance or Industrial Electrician License; 309A or 442A
• Understand networking, fiber optics, remote control technologies, PLC’s/ DCS and
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and written skills
• High level of organizational skill
• Be technically competent
• Willing to learn
• Able to listen
• Comfortable working alone
Working Conditions
• This position is part of the Dome Maintenance team located at our Porcupine Mine Site near Timmins, ON.
• In this role, you will work a 5x5x4 schedule. As such, if you do not live near the mine site, we will require relocation.
