Purpose
The Site Trainer’s primary role is to promote Safety in the Musselwhite work environment, while providing and developing training requirements for the Mine Site. In this key role, the successful candidate must demonstrate an exemplary employee attitude and practice towards Safety, along with a positive and energetic personality.
Responsibilities
Conduct Mill, Underground, and Surface Common Core and Equipment training
• Conduct camp inductions as requested
• Deliver site, mill, and underground inductions to all new employees and contractors
• Monitor and modify training programs, inductions, tests and documentation as needed
• Maintain accurate training records
• Complete training needs analysis and design Training programs
• Perform job observations on all employees at the mine to determine if follow-up training is necessary
• To develop and deliver specialty Common Core modules
• Audit training programs and records to ensure legislative compliance and adherence to safety measures
• Complete and document trainer review audit minimum of once a year with all Train-the-trainer
Requirements
Minimum grade 12 or equivalent
• Train-the-Trainer modules 1 and 2 and Underground Common Core modules 1-10, Mill common core, valid First Aid certification, valid WHMIS certification and as many Mill, Surface, and Underground specialty modules as applicable.
• 2-3 years experience in training or leadership roles
• Familiarity in preparation of training manuals and testing competencies.
• Knowledgeable in interpretation of Ministry of Labour standards
• Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
• Strong Commitment to Working Safely.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suit
Working Conditions
The work schedule for this position is 14 on, 14 days off – 12 Hour Shifts.
