Musselwhite Mine


The Planning & Reliability Supervisor is an integral member of the Musselwhite Mine Maintenance team and will provide knowledge, experience, and skills to assist in the successful development, implementation, and sustainability of our reliability-focused maintenance process.

Essential Duties

  • The incumbent will play a key role in promoting equipment reliability through the expert application of proven predictive maintenance techniques. Data collection will result in deficiency diagnosis, pre-emptive repair, scheduling preventative maintenance task, and frequency revisions as required
  • Support electrical/mechanical reliability initiatives with the intent of improving equipment efficiencies and reducing unplanned downtime. The incumbent will be required to interact closely and effectively with the Planners in order to assure that reliability driven tasks that are required to be performed by the Technicians are scheduled and completed in a timely fashion
  • Facilitate the adopted Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) methods to determine corrective actions to mitigate equipment performance failures. Participate/lead root cause failure reviews and provide re-design recommendations as needed
  • Develop and train department personnel on best practices for reliability, FMEA, RCMII, and other areas that enhance asset reliability
  • Manage the development of detailed work procedures and standard job packages to support the planning group and ensure the reliability of assets
  • Manage the site-wide lubrication and contamination control program including lube bays, lube storage and site initiatives
  • Support the development of and adhere to the detailed annual maintenance and capital budget

Training & Experience

  • Certified Journeyman with predictive maintenance experience a minimum
  • Certified Reliability Leader or RCFA or SMRP certification desirable
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a mining environment focusing on  mobile equipment and ore processing
  • Proficient in the use of precision technologies (laser alignment, oil analysis, Ultrasound, Thermography)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, written, and listening skills
  • A high level of organizational skills, confidence, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to perform in a self-directed, fast-paced, team environment
  • High degree of computer literacy is a definite asset (Microsoft Word, Excel, SAP)

Working Conditions

The work schedule for this rotation is 4 days on and 3 days off, 10-hour shifts.
