Telecommunications Technician

The telecommunication technician is part of the mine maintenance sector team and he / she reports to the instrumentation coordinator. He/She participates in the installation / maintenance of underground communication systems (UHF leaky feeder network, fiber optic network). The incumbent will be in charge of the HLS automated system of the scoop CN-R2900.

Description

  • Participate in setting up the HLS remote operation system for scoop.
    • Equipment repair / maintenance
    • Standardization of installations
    • Design of installation plans (on deswik software)
  • Maintain underground communications network.
    • Knowledge of RF (Radio frequencies) and DOCSIS
    • Update of the leaky feeder UHF network plan
    • Knowledge of network systems and IP addressingoupdate of fiber plan (autocad)
    • Control optic fiber fusion application
  • Respect and apply work and health and safety procedures.
  • All tasks related to the performance of his duties.

Requirements

  • DEC in instrumentation and control or DEC in telecommunications
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in mining or industry
  • Hold a valid explosives permit
  • Having successfully passed mining modules 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
  • Computer knowledge and knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad software.
  • Knowledge of SAP GMAO software is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Deswik software is an asset.

Work Schedule

  • 14 days of work followed by 14 days of rest
