About the role

Within the Health Department, the Nurse integrates the Health and Safety Department team. The Nurse is responsible for delivering consultations and care to the workers and makes recommendations on health matters.

Essential Duties

  • Respect, know and promote company regulations and policies, particularly with regard to health and safety
  • Apply medical prescriptions and protocols 
  • Respect the confidentiality rules
  • Ensure ignition and follow-up of industrial accident files (CNESST) 
  • Ensure follow-up of disabilities (short-term, long-term)
  • Work with the Human Resources Department and other departments
  • Evaluate the workers and identify the care needed
  • Provide care in the context of a designated area, in accordance with the protocols in place
  • Intervene anywhere on the mine site 24/7 for medical emergencies
  • Work on call

Essential Duties (continued)

  • Evacuate a worker from the site during a medical emergency
  • Do administrative follow-up of medical records, as set out by the professional requirements
  • Provide workers with health information and advice
  • Assist the doctor during site visits
  • Manage the pharmacy's stock and inventory
  • Deliver training (Hero in 30)
  • Ensure compliance with the various programs (lung health program, biological monitoring, mandatory medical exams, etc.) as defined in the company-specific health program
  • Perform all other related tasks as requested by the supervisor

Training & Experience

  • College or university degree in nursing
  • Expanded role training recommended
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in an industrial nurse position
  • Experience in critical and emergency care
  • Up-to-date CPR-AED 
  • ACLS and ATLS an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of the MS Office suite
  • Bilingualism, French/English (Essential)
