Provide comprehensive metallurgical support in the operation of primary crusher circuits, augmented feed, pebbles, raptor, HPGR, classification strainers, ball and SAG mills including all tonnage measurement devices such as scales, flowmeters and densimeters, thermofisher sampling systems, particle size analyzers (PSA), size distribution measure chambers on conveyors and the calibrations of them

Duties and Responsibilities 1

Making sure that risk preventive measurements are effectively applied in order to take good care of the worker’s health and safety.

Monitor the consumption of mill means and keep up to date registers of them, in a way to suggest corrections or optimizations with maintenance and operation personnel.

Verify that the ton measurement equipment (scales) is properly calibrated and to report if its not, keep register for future audits.

Provide relevant humidity data with frequent check-ups to minimize mistakes in tonnage estimation and production reconciliation.

Identify improvement opportunity areas and participate in continuous improvement programs.

Execute metallurgical sampling hoods for the characterization of comminution circuits.

Monitor the correct operation of the dust suppressor systems and report whenever needed.

Monitor crusher and mill circuit’s KPIs closely.

Promote the maximization of expert system usage.

Generate, monitor and evaluate that the daily reports are correct.

Duties and Responsibilities 2

Analyze operational data to make proper decisions, use process management tools such as PI Asset Framework (PI AF) to generate information.

Permanently collaborate on the bottle neck identification and suggest operational changes in coordination with the Technical Services Superintendent.

Control and suggest operational changes for the particle size after mill is within the range agreed upon, to improve metallurgical performance of the flotation circuit and minimalize precious metal loss.

Cover the position for other metallurgic supervisors.

Attend in meetings with mill means providers.

Participate in the elaboration and development of standard operation procedures and capability procedures.

Promote mutual respect and permanent dialogue work environment, prioritizing the teamwork principles among the work team members at all times.

Support on administrative tasks to manage company’s resources.

Be available to participate as expert in training activities coordinated by the process training areas.

Participate in the calibration and periodic update of the expert mill system along with operations.


  • 5 to 10 years of experience in metallurgy mineral process plants, preferably assigned to crusher and mill circuits.
  • To be familiarized with working under pressure and with a high sense of urgency
