We are seeking a detail oriented, committed problem solver with robust communication skills who will execute the vision through the design and oversight of a web and mobile application platform; the development, deployment and adoption of applications; and the delivery of solutions to key colleagues that enable business processes. We would like to see you create a competitive advantage through the strategic use of web and mobile technologies to actively create cost-effective system-enabled solutions.

Essential Duties

 

  • This position will be directly responsible for all aspects of the design, engineering, maintenance, and support of the organization's wireless networks.
  • Take a lead role as Global Wireless Network architect working closely with Business Partners and Mobile Network Operators to ensure proposed solutions meet Newmont Goldcorp requirements.
  • Develop technical solutions for Wireless Network, ensuring requirements meet Newmont Goldcorp mobile connectivity use cases.
  • Develop technical requirements for device connectivity via cellular technology, and provide recommendations for effective use of this technology in office, and mining environments.
  • Create solutions to wireless connectivity, reliability, and performance issues.
  • Build and maintain relationships across Business Units, Partners, and Vendors.
  • Travel as required, both domestic and internationally. Maintain valid travel documents, allowing unrestricted travel to and from USA.

Training & Experience
  • 10-15 years of experience in specification, design, development, and deployment of digital wireless networks and communication systems.
  • Expert understanding of Cisco Wireless Network architecture, design, configuration, and operations is required.
  • Have extensive practical knowledge of switching and routing protocols (OSPF, and BGP).
  •  Solid understanding of general Network and Security fundamentals.
  • Device and network performance analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of 802.11 standards, CAPWAP, Cisco WLC; be able to use tools such as Cisco Prime Infrastructure, AirMagnet Spectrum, Ekahau Pro, or other Survey and RF tools, to design and support WLANS.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions (internally and externally with vendors).
  • Demonstrated technical success in a fast paced, results-oriented engineering environment.
  • Ability to work independently, and mentor others.

 

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent professional level certifications.
  • Possessing active certifications: CCIE Wireless, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Wireless or Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP), is a strong plus.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working for a Global multi-national corporation.
  • Large-scale wireless design tailored for availability and performance.
  • Experience with VoIP or VoLTE.
  • Exposure to mining specific wireless technologies, applications, and tools.

 

Working Conditions

 

  • The position will sit in the Greenwood Village, CO Corporate Office.
  • Position may require travel to, and assist, other domestic and international sites.
  • Working in our inclusive environment, telephone calls may take place before and/or after normal local business hours to accommodate other regions' work schedules.
  • On Call duties for critical outages
  • Willingness to put in additional hours as projects and priorities require.
