  • Would you like to drive the execution & administration of the concentrates sales process for the Peñasquito Site, including invoicing and tracking of concentrate sales in accordance with the executed offtake contracts?

Newmont’s concentrate sales & marketing activities are handled using a 3rd party system entitled Mineman, a Concentrate Marketing & Logistics tool. Custom modules have been developed and tailored to meet Peñasquito concentrate tracking and reporting requirements. The role will lead the sales & marketing back office team to ensure timely, efficient and accurate administration of Peñasquito concentrate sales.

You'd participate in daily interactions with counterparties, site operations, regional finance teams and Mineman. In addition to concentrate sales, you will assist in functions such as cash forecasting and cash management strategies to improve working capital management.

This role is fundamental in achieving strict compliance and consistency in all issues relating to Newmont’s policy and procedures, internal controls, and compliance with commonly accepted accounting principles. The Senior Manager will support overall objectives of the sales & marketing team including providing analysis on customer receivables, receipt timing, assay results among other critical information to negotiating agreements with customers.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the development of the Marketing Analysts by focusing on objective setting and individual development plans that with align with our performance methodologies.

In this role you will
  • Responsible for leading all aspects of the execution of the Peñasquito's concentrate sales activities. This role requires close liaison and development of good working relationships with Newmont’s operating regions and Head Office Marketing team.
  • Working in conjunction with the Senior Director, Finance – Concentrates to assure timely, and accurate handling of sales strategy.
  • Support & train our Marketing Analysts to ensure accurate input & tracking of data relevant to concentrate inventories and shipments including the weights, moisture content, and provisional & final assays of the shipments; and final assays settlements in cases of disputes.
  • Ensuring the accurate recording, monitoring, confirmation and settlement of all sales transactions.
  • Ensure timely generation of invoices and remittance of payments.
  • Develop reporting tools and metrics to monitor and track concentrate sales performance including tracking against budget, customer performance and the performance of service providers.
  • Develop and implement standardized concentrate marketing administration policies and procedures
  • Work in tandem with Mineman back office to provide timely support of administration for shipments
  • Lead open Accounts Receivable position to insure timely collection of cash
  • Coordinating with global sites on forecasting, delivery and inventory matters
  • Provide necessary information for quarterly executive reporting
  • Support Accounting team with revenue accounting including Mark-to-Market financials, journals, and cashflow forecasting
  • Financial analysis as required
  • Provide Executive and Board-level presentation content related to concentrate sales, strategy and market update
  • Participation in business planning process with a focus on cash position and forecasting
  • Lead and mentor marketing analyst(s) by providing working knowledge of concentrate sales and administration standard methodologies, ongoing education and support to drive high performance and productivity.

Training & Experience
  • Spanish language skills strongly desired
  • Strong financial analysis skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point applications
  • Exhibited strong verbal and written communication skills

Working Conditions and Location
  • The position will sit in the Greenwood Village, CO Corporate Office.
  • Position may require travel to, and assist, other domestic and international sites.
  • Willingness to longer hours and weekends as projects and priorities instruct.
