Senior Infrastructure Specialist

About this role

  • We are seeking to hire someone who will be directly responsible for all aspects of Tier 3 support, systematic improvements, and maintenance of our organization's networks.
  • You will ensure that enterprise and regional IT infrastructure, Cloud, and related devises are maintained, supported, optimized, and reliable.
In this role you will
  • Responsible for supporting all aspects of Newmont’s IT infrastructure, systems and facilities. Serves as the technical authority and guides the support and maintenance to standards as applicable to each region, which includes server and storage infrastructure, active directory, exchange, backups, security and related technologies.
  • Responsible for providing assistance and guidance for our the regional infrastructure and capacity planning.
  • Assists in team scheduling to ensure appropriate support coverage.
  • Responsible for ensuring that our server & storage infrastructure is maintained to provide reliable services for each region, including working with service providers to ensure that the environment is stable and highly available.
  • Responsibility for server backups and ensuring reliability and data integrity of the backup systems and media.
  • Provides technical support and coordination to service providers in relation to configuration management for communications and server/storage/backup hardware.
  • Ensures that service providers are carrying out contractual obligations for proactive and preventative maintenance of the infrastructure environment.
  • Collaborates with the global infrastructure team in definition of infrastructure standards, coordination, implementation, and compliance.
  • Responsible for global and regional infrastructure projects, including definition of regional requirements, input and validation to global designs, and oversight of regional technology implementations.
  • Work closely with the Network and Services teams to understand the data communications and phone network environments and regional IT facilities. Provides backup when necessary.
  • Assist in the support of Newmont-owned IT facilities for our regions, which may include data center, comm rooms, video conferencing, access control, copy/print, HVAC/UPS, cabling, microwave, and related services.
  • Tracks related IT issues, coordinates resolution and assists in driving issues to closure.
  • Escalates high severity issues and chronic problems to appropriate management.
  • Provides timely follow-through with customers and IT peers on IT service requests and tasks.
  • Guides and participation in various IT projects as needed.
  • Ensure that all changes to communication or infrastructure systems, whether directly performed, are performed by the Outsource Service Provider, in compliance with our standards and procedures and SOX-compliant processes are fully documented.
  • Collaborates with global teams to define policies and is responsible for regional implementation and compliance for policies related to the network infrastructure and operations.
  • Ensures procurement of IT infrastructure requirements.
  • Participates in IT budget planning and review.

Your training, skills & experience checklist


  • University Degree or equivalent experience
  • MCSE certification a plus


  • 5-7 years experience in technical support role
  • Experience in supporting and running Microsoft O365 technologies and services
  • Cloud IaaS, Saas and PaaS experience


Working Conditions and location
  • The position will sit in the Greenwood Village, CO Corporate Office.
  • Travel as the need arises, both domestic and internationally. Maintain valid travel documents, allowing unrestricted travel to and from USA.
