Regional Technology Portfolio Manager

About this role

This role is responsible for effectively running multi-sites to ensure business objectives are met on schedule and on budget using the standard project management methodologies. This role may have direct and indirect supervision over other external and internal project managers.

In this role you will

Portfolio Management

  • Lead Technology Project Managers on various levels of projects within the region.
  • Lead all aspects of regional technology portfolio in accordance with corporate standards.
  • Responsible for the team schedule to align project resource allocation and availability.
  • Coordinate with project teams through the design, documentation and implementation of technology solutions to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure project schedules, required PMO documentation, status reports, and cost/benefits analysis are aligned.
  • Coordinate project resource, schedules, activities, scope and portfolio risks.
  • Communicate projects status updates to leadership and collaborate with various groups through project committees and reports.
  • Ensure technical evaluation are completed on every project to ensure technology requirements, increased capacity needs, performance, facilities and equipment are proactively planned for.
  • Responsible for project documentation, ensuring it is maintained, securely stored, and shared to appropriate team members, end-users and key partners.
  • Provide effective leadership and mentorship over project scope, schedule management, risk/issue management and cost management.
  • Develop stage gate process documentation for all advanced projects in the region.


Management of Change

  • Develop and implement adoption strategy for individual projects or change initiatives.
  • Demonstrate experience to contribute continuous improvements ideas for Technology and PMO processes, methodologies etc.


Capital & Opex Cost Management

  • Establish and facilitate processes to develop and coordinate the annual regional technology capital and operational expense budgets, routine financial forecasts and annual planning processes.
  • Facilitate the reporting and tracking of the department’s financial performance, including, but not limited to, budget to actual variance reporting.


Safety and Compliance

  • Align with Newmont's Health and Safety and Technology policies, standards and processes on all projects to maintain consistency, confidentiality, integrity and availability of technology implementations.
  • Adhere to the company's project management framework during the execution of all technology projects.
  • Ensure accurate operating procedures are in place when new projects are placed into production.
Your training, skills & experience

Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other related field
  • Project Management certification.    

Additional Knowledge:

  • Understanding of service design and service transition.
  • Knowledge of Technology infrastructure  
  • Business process and improvements.


  • Between 10 to 12 years’ experience in Technology Project Management.
  • Financial Management experience.
  • Relationship Management.
  • Experience in team leadership. 
  • Experience in Change Management.
  • Spanish language a huge Plus

Technical Skills:

  • Contract negotiation skills.  
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy skills - MS Office (Projects, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Smartsheet and Outlook).
  • Advanced programme / project management and coordination skills.
  • Advanced planning, organising and prioritising skills.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Change management skills.
Working conditions and location

Role is located in our Newmont Denver, Greenwood Village headquarter, CO.
Up to 30% Regular travel is required.
