Manager, Treasury Operations

About this role

As the Treasury Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing cash and liquidity management on a global scale to support all aspects of treasury operations and cash management. This includes overseeing global daily cash positions, bank account funding strategies, ensuring the execution of all authorized disbursements monitors and analyzes bank fees for lowest cost optionality, and supports the placement of short-term investments in the billions of dollars.

In addition, you will be charged with supporting internal & external reporting, assisting with the implementation and maintenance of treasury systems, running and maintaining treasury system reporting, SOX testing, and internal and external audit requirements. This role is key to achieve strict compliance and consistency in all issues relating to Newmont policy and procedures, internal controls, and compliance with commonly accepted accounting principles.

Your role will consist of

Cash Management Oversight

  • Prior day bank reconciliation and current day positioning
  • Approves 3rd party and intercompany ACH, wire and bank transfers, account funding, and intercompany funding
  • Recommends and implements continuous improvements to the cash management process
  • Day to day processing of FX trades, investments and reporting
  • Ensures compliance with internal controls and standards
  • Review short term and medium cash forecasting, analyzes, and proposes value-add strategies to management
  • Placement of short-term investments working directly with banking counterparties


Team Management

  • Lead workstreams of department's operations including liaison with Accounts Payable and Payroll
  • Communicate priorities to staff, distribute workloads and ensure accuracy of transactions
  • Coach and develop team's analysts to ensure continuous improvement
  • Provide recurring updates to Director of Treasury Operations, informing of issues and proposed resolutions


Bank Account Management

  • Support bank account opening, closing, changes, signature card updates and KYC and banking compliance

Training & Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree accounting, business or finance
  • Advance degree, MBA, CFA or CPA preferred
  • Corporate banking experience required
  • Cash management experience required
  • Payment systems experience required
  • Knowledge of IFRS and/or U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).
  • Costing and budgeting concepts and techniques are preferred but not required



  • 5+ years in treasury or banking
  • Online banking platform payment execution and administration


Skills and Abilities:

  • Exhibited strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Bilingual English / Spanish - verbal and written a plus
  • Ability to multitask; able to perform productively under tight deadlines with multiple priorities
  • Must have a high-degree of self-initiative with an ability to learn and undertake new challenges
  • Strong organizational and relationship management skills
  • Must be able to work independently and support multiple individuals
  • Strong PC skills using MS office software
  • Must be detail oriented
Working Conditions and Location
  • The position will sit in the Greenwood Village, CO Corporate Office
  • Position may require travel to, and assist, other domestic and international sites
  • Willingness to longer hours and weekends as projects and priorities instruct
