Join Newmont! As the Sr. Communications Specialist you will execute internal communication strategies, programs, projects and tactics that inform and influence Newmont’s internal partners, including employees & contractors. You'll collaborate with external communications on brand building efforts, act as a partner and consultant to leaders on creating and executing function-specific communications strategies.

In this role you will

 

  • Contribute to the development of an internal communications strategy, framework and roadmap.
  • Implement internal communication plans that support Newmont’s strategy and business goals. Track and report on communications effectiveness.
  • Engage with functional leaders as a business partner to craft and deliver communications vehicles that support the needs of their organizations. Write, design, package and distribute customized content and materials.
  • Serve as an internal brand ambassador.
  • Partner with functional teams to plan and deliver regular communication events.
  • Develop messaging for use with internal partners. Research, write and publish articles for the employee intranet, Yammer, newsletters and other channels
  • Maintain relationships with external contractors to develop and produce communications deliverables.
  • Support execution of internal digital media strategy including Yammer and the intranet.
  • Manage the translation process of all internal communication material.
  • Assist with the production of various internal communication materials including videos, newsletters, memos, presentations, toolkits and internal promotional materials

Your training, skills & experience checklist

 

Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs, marketing, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Five to seven (5-7) years of related communications experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Web publishing and editing proficiency (e.g., Sharepoint).
  • Experience using internal social communication channels such as SharePoint Online, Yammer, Workplace by Facebook etc.
  • Personal discretion, as work may involve sensitive and confidential information.
  • Relationship building and collaboration; being a great partner to multiple internal & external associates, particularly at the executive level.
  • Resourcefulness in navigating a heavy workload; comfortable utilizing or directing internal and external contacts to complete assignments under time pressure.
  • Organizational skills and project management; running multiple priorities under deadlines, while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
  • Effective computer and graphics skills including document design, presentations, report generation, and digital media understanding.
  • Personal initiative and self-management; delivering work products with minimal supervision.
  • Foreign language proficiency (e.g., Spanish, French and/or Dutch) strongly preferred.

  • The position will sit in the Greenwood Village, CO Corporate Office.
