Intern - Supply Chain

Supply Chain in is a center-led organization that is organized by the following disciplines: Sourcing and Procurement; Category Management; Transportation and Logistics; Inventory and Warehouse Management; Projects Solutions; Supply Chain Innovation & Governance.

Essential Duties


As an intern, you will be responsible for implementing specific Supply Chain projects, as well as supporting the day-to-day activities of your department. The exact projects will be established according to your availability, interest, skills, and experience, in addition to the specific business needs.


Possible projects include:

  • Research into multiple topics including: Sourcing and procurement scorecards and dashboard, and Creating visuals with Tableau
  • General support to the Global Category Management team for data analyses and reporting
  • Identify and validating data within Spend and Portfolio Management reports
  • Review category management framework and develop a RASCI for Global, Regional, Site and outsourcing support
  • Maintenance of dashboards based on inputs from stakeholders
  • Support other category management projects
  • Development of monthly performance reports on spend and portfolio management
  • This project will require strong communication skills, analytical skills, and interaction with diverse regional teams to collect relevant data.
  • Effective question and survey design to gather stakeholder feedback.
  • Identify and create any additional sourcing and spend reports required by the business
  • Experience and knowledge in Tableau and other BI tools (OneView)
  • ERP experience with SAP.
  • Work in a world class, multicultural procurement organization.


The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work; other work may also be assigned.

Training & Experience


  • Graduate students preferred, graduating in December 2020 or later – Master’s in Supply Chain, Business Administration or Business Analytics or equivalent with supply chain specialization. We will consider other similar disciplines.
  • Experience in mining and/or passion to learn about the hard-rock mining industry preferred
  • Strong organization, project and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfort engaging with senior leaders and global teams
  • Strong research methods capability and writing skills
  • At least a 3.0 GPA or equivalent
  • Valid work authorization to work in the United States for this position. 
Working Conditions


  • Our Supply Chain intern positions begin in January 2020 and conclude in July 2020. The exact dates are flexible depending on each student’s availability and our business need.  Our internships may be full-time or part-time paid positions depending on the selected student's schedule.
  • This internship is based at our corporate headquarters in Greenwood Village, CO.  It is possible some travel may be required to one or more of Newmont Goldcorp’s sites. There is ample opportunity for internal networking within our company.
