Senior Advisor EAM Systems and Standards

About this role

What will you be responsible for?

This position will have global application, providing technical support and guidance for Enterprise Asset Management EAM systems and standards for all regions.

The position will also be expected to deliver value to the organization through continuous improvement and technical advancements in developing technical standards for EAM systems supporting achievement of business plans and strategy. Incumbent will also be expected to demonstrate leadership through coaching, mentoring and developing individuals and advising project teams to exceed expected performance levels

  • The creation of global standards and processes for EAM systems.
  • Define and Assist end users in training of EAM processes and systems activities
  • Create and socialize AM metrics to raise awareness of variance to the standard processes
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of EAM master data to the data standards, holding regional and site personnel accountable for correcting errors in the systems.
  • Collaborate with Asset Management professionals to define opportunities for improving their consistency to the standard processes.
  • Discovery of technology that can aid the business in value creation through improved efficiencies or process improvements.
Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:

  • We create and deliver EAM Standards and systems that drive further value for the business including the metrics to sustain business improvements
  • Implement proactive controls for data standards in EAM Systems, and supervise data quality
  • We ensure the data decisions are consistently and clearly communicated throughout all impacted partners
  • Develop efficient process to run designated reports weekly/bi-weekly/monthly that will support analytics, data quality dashboards & metrics
  • We maintain, communicate and train as vital to ensure understanding and compliance with all standards, guidelines and processes.
  • Manage root cause analysis of Master Data change requests to determine potential issues. Lead Regional Data Owners RDOs and RBPO as appropriate to resolve any issues and improve process efficiencies.
  • We lead business process improvements that will promote greater data integrity and control.
  • Apply business judgment to solve problems and make timely decisions with regional maintenance teams on SAP data quality and compliance.
  • We deliver Strategic direction on EAM Standards and Systems, to ensure consistent, uniform, and valuable results across all regions in the business. Also, providing standards systems and standards for operational readiness of Greenfield projects.
  • Align department objective (Asset Management, Supply Chain and Finance) to facilitate business efficiencies within EAM process / systems.
  • We establish systems, procedures and variance reporting to ensure Asset Management (Corporate/Region & Site) are aligned with EAM Standards and Guidelines.
  • Define Global Data Management and Data Governance data clean-up and validation efforts adjusting priorities; allocating and reallocating resources (people and budget) appropriately to achieve defined outcomes.
  • We build and maintain collaborative, influential relationships with all Global business partners and partners to ensure the integrity and fit-for-purpose of EAM data is maintained. .
  • Drive commitment and continuous improvement within Newmont portfolio in EAM Systems governance, clearly aligning department objectives and metrics with functional strategy
  • We contribute to and/or conduct review of Global EAM data quality to ensure quality, accuracy, data integrity, and technical compliance.
  • Develop and manage the ongoing training competencies and associated training material to support standards policies and procedures related to EAM Systems and Standards.
  • We ensure consistency to all Data Governance policies and procedures, and execute audit checks and annual validations for the region.
  • Effectively communicate recommendations and drive compliance for process improvements based on audit results related to data integrity and alignment to all Data Governance standards, policies & procedures.
  • We deliver value to the organization through the regular evaluation and application of EAM technical research, trends and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Identify and support efforts to implement technical advancements and continuous improvements that delivered value to the organization (enhanced productivity, reduced cost and/ or created business opportunities).
  • We set aligned objectives and clearly defined success for each project/result with customers
  • Lead the development of guidelines and procedures; ensured self and others fully aligned with company policies and standards
Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Here is what we would need to see from you!


  • B.S. degree in related field or equivalent work experience required
  • Significant demonstrated understanding of EAM Systems
  • Significant demonstrated understanding of end to end business processes, within Enterprise Asset Management


  • 7+ years of (preference to mining) operational experience/data governance preferred.
  • Experienced level Asset Management experience required.
  • MS-Office Suites required; Proficient in Excel and Word.

  • The position is located in the Denver corporate office.
  • Flexible hours to accommodate global meeting times.
  • Willingness to put in extra hours as projects and priorities figure out.
  • Some travel to domestic and international sites required

The salary range offered for this role is $$98,400 to $129,150. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.   

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
