Senior Collaboration Systems Manager

About this role

  • The Collaboration systems team oversees the deployment and use of key collaboration applications within Newmont. These applications include SharePoint Online, OneDrive, MS Teams, Yammer, FWI Cloud, Poppulo, ShareFile and DocuSign, in addition to a number of smaller Legal applications.
  • The role of Senior Collaboration Systems Architect is to support the Director of Collaboration Systems with the strategic planning for collaboration systems applications as part of Newmont’s Infrastructure strategy. 
  • The role will oversee the collaboration systems architecture and technology planning (including developing an implementation roadmap) for SharePoint Online, OneDrive, MS Teams, Yammer, FWI Cloud and other collaboration applications. 
  • Provide oversight for issues and enhancements for collaboration systems applications to ensure alignment with technology standards and roadmap.
  • Act as M365 application SME (SharePoint, PowerAutomate, PowerApps, OneDrive, MS Teams and Yammer) within Newmont.

Your role will consist of

Strategy and Planning

  • Support the Director of Collaboration in developing and implementing the collaboration systems roadmap for SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Yammer, FWI Cloud and other collaboration applications.
  • Provide expertise in the development of standards, governance and practices for all collaboration systems. 
  • Be responsible for identifying gaps and issues, recommend areas of opportunity, determine potential timing and sequencing of improvement initiatives, and define the costs and benefits of proposed solutions
  • Remain current on the latest technologies that align to our business initiatives
  • Continually pursue knowledge on latest trends, product releases and vendor offerings
  • Ensure technical decisions and knowledge related to the collaboration systems applications are captured and managed.
  • Support the evolution of Newmont’s data governance strategy, in partnership with the Newmont Legal department.

Technology Application Management

  • Working in partnership with the Cloud infrastructure team, assist with Tier 3 level support for the Collaboration Systems Microsoft applications (OneDrive, SharePoint, MSTeams and Yammer). 
  • Oversee the technical support process for all Collaboration System Applications.
  • Collaborate with functional area leads to determine how current collaboration systems can support business requirements.
  • Develop approaches and strategies for solving business problems leveraging the suite of collaboration applications. 
  • Provide technical oversight for key data governance components within the Microsoft Security and Compliance suite.

Support Team Management

  • Manage the offshore support team as they respond to incidents and enhancement requests for the legacy SharePoint on-premise and SharePoint Online environment.

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Knowledge: 

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree or equivalent technical diploma at an accredited college or university with major course work in Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Business Administration or a closely related field 
  • SharePoint and/or other MS application certification
  • Working knowledge of M365 applications including OneDrive, MSTeams, Yammer, PowerAutomate and PowerApps.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Security and Compliance center

Experience: 

  • Minimum 7 - 10 years’ experience working in Information technology for a global organization.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications including SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Teams, PowerAutomate, PowerApps and Yammer (required)
  • Demonstrated experience configuring Microsoft Security and Compliance center

Working conditions and location

  • The position can be fulfilled remotely, however, preference will be given to candidates based in Denver, Colorado.
  • Willingness to put in extra hours as projects and priorities dictate.
  • Flexible hours to accommodate global support times.
  • Travel may be required but is projected to be minimal.  
     

The salary range offered for this role is $98,400 - 129,150. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.   

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
