About this role
The Head, Organizational Development integrates the organization effectiveness standards, guidelines, policies, programs and metrics that enhance organization performance by optimizing how work is done, measured and managed in current and future work scenarios.
Your role will consist of
Growth Strategy/Governance:
- Develop Newmont’s organization effectiveness framework, guide and prioritize the approach.
- Serve as the custodian of Enterprise Organizational Design. Advise and guide Leaders and People business partners in how to use the Systems Leadership blueprint.
- Develop the standards, policies, metrics and tools that will drive Newmont’s organization effectiveness.
- Provide People Business Partners with the concepts, principles and methodologies of Newmont’s approach to organization effectiveness to facilitate their role supporting the business and implementing the standards and tools.
- Use the Newmont approach to organization design as the basis and lens to define and redesign work as a response to changing work and working arrangements. Support the business in keeping a fit for purpose and healthy organizational design in complete alignment with Newmont’s organizational design standard.
- Develop and support the implementation of programs and tools to achieve maximum employee engagement delivering the desired Employee Experience and enabling a workplace where everyone belongs, thrives and is valued.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by regularly evaluating the effectiveness of programs and interventions, seeking feedback, monitoring outcomes and making iterative adjustments as needed.

Operations Excellence:
- Work with People Business Units Heads and enterprise functions People Business Partners to ensure the Operating Model principles and standards are known and they have the required proficiency levels to apply them as appropriate for their roles and work.
- Increase the knowledge and skills of People Business Partners to provide expert advice to the leaders on the organization effectiveness framework, programs and tools.
- Develop and implement initiatives to support leaders in their role to enhance effective engagement in line with the company values and team processes.
- Lead and facilitate organizational change initiatives, ensuring that they are effectively planned, communicated and executed. Collaborate with People Business Partners to develop change plans utilizing Newmont’s framework and tools.
- Develop programs, and processes to enhance organizational performance, productivity, and efficiency.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to assess organizational effectiveness, measure impact, and make evidence -based recommendations. Apply analytical tools and methodologies to generate insights and support decision-making processes.
- In collaboration with workforce analytics lead design the global people productivity metrics. Develop the capability within the People Business Partner team to provide insides and support the business in analyzing and using data to drive outcomes.

Safety & Sustainability: Establish and maintains systems and processes that support the company’s safety and sustainability goals and can accommodate industry trends.
People:
- Provide functional leadership and engagement to the People Business Partners across Newmont.
- Leads the team responsible for consolidating and analyzing the information across business units and assets and for the implementation of standards, frameworks and performance metrics across the organization as it relates to the organization effectiveness programs.
- Advice on the individual and team capabilities and skills required of professionals in People Business Partner roles.
- Ensure the development of inclusive and cohesive teams working together to deliver productive, safe outcomes.
Commercial: Responsible for relevant budgeting and reporting for the OE CoE
Your training, skills, and experience checklist
Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in organizational psychology, organizational development, business administration, social sciences and related fields
- Theory, concepts and principles underpinning Newmont’s Operating Model
- Best practice human resources systems and processes
- Best practice management practices
- Mining industry human resources practices and market trends
- Project management fundamentals
Technical Skills:
- Advanced level of proficiency in using the theories and concepts of the Operating Model.
- Advanced proficiency in Systems Leadership principles
- Advanced proficiency in change management techniques and methodologies
- Advanced proficiency in the use of data analytics to develop action plans and initiatives.
- Advanced proficiency in employee engagement systems and methods.
This position will be located at our Denver corporate headquarters with travel to other sites and locations as required.

The salary range offered for this role is $204,000 - 242,250. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
