About this role

What will you be responsible for?
The Senior Manager, Global Business Process Owner – Finance will lead finance business process governance, including overseeing the SAP S4 HANA application and Blackline solution across the end to end process. Senior Manager will also coordinate IT and business functions to resolve system issues and develop future state accounting systems that align with the IT roadmap and SAP S4 HANA solutions being deployed.

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
•    Lead systematic issue resolution, including Central Finance Application Integration Framework (“AIF”) issues and minor system enhancements, through coordinating detailed analysis of system mechanics, serving as the primary person to understand how global accounting is reflected within the three levels of system solutions, and what systematic architecture constraints should be considered and (or) modified.
•    Lead the development of centralized and standardized training materials to facilitate global knowledge transfer of key finance business processes.
•    Serve as the key Finance business partner for major development work and IT roadmap alignment, supporting identification and management of cutover risk, coordinating with functional directors to ensure the interconnections between finance business processes and system solutions are considered.
•    Owner of the finance data governance process that spans SAP S4 HANA and BPC. Role will be accountable for understanding the interconnections between finance data at each level of the system, including the required governance to ensure accurate internal and external reporting. Will require cross-functional coordination with the Manager, Global Business Process Owner – Finance, Master Data Management function in Supply Chain, Information Technology (“IT”) and accounting functions.
•    Handle system administration of the Blackline solution owned by the Manager, Global Business Process Owner – Finance, as required. Support the Balance Sheet Reconciliation process and standard definition.
•     Build relationships and cross-functional coordination with IT Enterprise function to ensure project related topics and S4 Finance operating issues are resolved efficiently.
•    Lead security review of SAP finance systems for global role assignments and for IT emergency access.

Here is what we would need to see from you!
Education:
•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
•    SAP S4 HANA system expertise and (or) certifications.
•    .Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP), as well as costing and budgeting concepts and techniques are required and knowledge of IFRS required.
•    CPA or equivalent required.
Experience:
•    Minimum of six to eight years of combined auditing and accounting/financial reporting experience.
•    Experience with project management is required.
•    Mining, construction, utilities or other heavy industry experience is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
•    SAP ECC, S/4 HANA and BPC systematic skills at the end user and system administrator level.
•    Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
•    Successfully apply Microsoft Word and Excel applications and other MS Office software.
•    Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and a high level of motivation.
•    Requiring minimal direction/supervision, and assertive diplomacy is necessary.

Where you will be located!
•    The position is located in the Denver corporate office.
•    Position may be required to travel to, and assist other domestic and international sites.

The salary range offered for this role is $116,960 - 138,890. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.   

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
