About this role

What will you be responsible for?

The architect, enterprise business systems bears overall responsibility to drive the creation and adoption of architecture processes and standards and a fit-for-purpose quality application portfolio for Newmont. This role will be responsible for building a vision for application architecture that will enable simpler, more secure and efficient future state. The work mentioned below relates to the SAP ecosystem. Growth Strategy/Governance

  • Take business strategy and facilitate a definition of the future state of application architecture to support that strategy.
  • Improve upon existing application architecture frameworks in order to define and design simplified, standards-based, fit-for-purpose architecture.
  • Lead the development and assessment of new concepts to support the business strategy and provide recommendations to leverage technology for competitive advantage, internal efficiency and improved service. 
  • Define application standards, guidelines and reference architectures.
  • Establish an application portfolio management process and lead efforts to plan and govern the technical and functional aspects of the application portfolio throughout the migration.
  • Analyze and document the current state, prepare, document and ensure execution of a transition state, document and constantly validate a future state.
  • Understand the benefits and challenges of cloud architectures, have implementation experience in innovative technologies that cross security, infrastructure, information and application domains. 
  • Create conceptual, logical designs for complex and cross-application and cross-integration architecture challenges.
  • Participate in Architecture Review Board activities.
  • Collaborate with architects in other architectural areas to ensure comprehensive and cohesive working solutions are developed across disciplines.

Safety & Sustainability 

  • We design robust cybersecurity measures and policies in systems to prevent data breaches and ransomware attacks.
  • Create designs taking into consideration IT policies and standards that ensure the security, privacy and compliance of the IT Enterprise systems and data.
  • Design IT solutions that reduce environmental impact of the business operations, such as cloud computing and virtualization.

People

  • Maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with business owners, IT staff, project consultants and vendors.

Education:

  • Bachelors (undergraduate) in Science or Masters preferred.
  • Around 10-15 years of technology and related management experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in designing and delivering large scale distributed systems.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Application architecture, design and development.
  • TOGAF and EA tools experience.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of broad enterprise architecture concepts, disciplines and capabilities.
  • Knowledgeable in the design and construction of cloud architectures that enable well integrated transactional, collaborative, resilient and efficient systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of modern application architecture, roadmaps, development and integration technologies.
  • Strong architecture, development and Mobile background.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Diagnosis and monitoring of operational processes working with established known systems and processes.
  • Requires the ability to draw on data in order to make a diagnosis and between alternative methods to address individual issue(s).
  • Ability to drill down into technical and functional issues and solve complex and detailed problems.

Technical Skills:

  • Architecture knowledge of the following SAP S/4HANA 2022 on-premises, SAP Cloud products and technologies: Basis, Security and GRC, ABAP, Fiori, Solution Manager, Landscape Management for complex projects in N+2 environments, PO, CPI, BTP, SAC, DataSphere, Signavio, Concur, EnableNow, Data Services, and BPC. 
  • Process understanding of ARIBA Network, ARIBA Procurement, ARIBA S2C, ARIBA Catalog, ARIBA CIG, ARIBA Invoice Management, Full Suite of SFSF products with a focus on Employee Central, MDG (BP, Materials, Assets, and Finance), SAP S/4HANA 2022 modules namely Finance, Controlling, Project Systems, Asset Accounting, Central Finance, Enterprise Asset Management, Supply Chain, HR and Payroll.

  • The position is located in the Denver Corporate office.
  • Availability to travel domestically and internationally as needed. 
  • Availability to accommodate meeting times outside typical business hours to attend global calls.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $116,960 to 138,890. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.   

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
