Essential Duties

  • Offers constructive solutions to problems and issues.
  • Create, complete and research existing work orders.
  • Read, comprehend and interpret technical data sheets, schematics, blue prints and instructional guides.
  • Install, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including basic wiring, circuit installation, cables and switch gear up to 15 kv.
  • Able to troubleshoot, repair, inspect and install lighting fixtures, welders, grinders and power tools.
  • Knowledge of control systems.
  • Read, comprehend and interpret the National Electric Code and install and maintain according to its guide line.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and install electric motors.
  • Understand basic operation of programmable logic controllers (PLC's).
  • Troubleshoot and repair variable frequency drives (VFD's).

Qualifications, Training & Experience

  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical equipment used in the Industrial or Mining industries.
  • Electrical experience.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Working Conditions


  • This position is located in our Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine site.

This position has multiple levels (which may range from level 1 up to level 5). The hourly rate offered for this overtime-eligible role will depend on the level, and the range of the hourly rate is $26.10 (Tech 1) - 38.84 (Tech 5). The hourly rate is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado.  The specific level and hourly rate that is offered to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The hourly rate offer will not be based on a candidate’s wage rate history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about wage rate history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
