About this role
What will you be responsible for?
The Control Systems Technical Specialist II is a member of the global Fixed Plant Control (FPC) systems team and will maintain and improve the availability and integrity of the site industrial control system (ICS) infrastructure for a single site.
- We provide technical expertise and support for all DCS, PLC & SCADA hardware, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Provides technical expertise and support for all ICS networking, telemetry, and all site OT infrastructure including the PI Historian suite of applications.
- We provide support to control room/operations, metallurgists, maintenance, engineering, and projects departments to safely improve production capacity across both processing and mining facilities.
- We collaborate with control system vendors to lead minor upgrades, patching and, incorporate new products successfully into the site ICS;
- We perform any preventative or corrective maintenance required on the ICS infrastructure. The incumbent is also required to continuously develop and improve the site maintenance procedures to maximize the availability of the site ICS;
Your Training, Skills & Experience

Training:
- Electrical and/or instrumentation trade certificate is needed
- Additional qualifications in process control or control systems desirable
Experience:
At least 7 years of experience working with control systems in any related industry.
Significant and confirmed experience in at least one of the following systems
- Yokogawa Centum VP DCS
- Rockwell Control / Compact Logix PLCs
- Schneider Modicon PLCs
- CitectSCADA HMI systems
- Knowledge and understanding of OsiSoft PI application suite desirable
- Significant exposure and understanding of industrial Ethernet networks
- Knowledge of industry standard methodologies for industrial control systems

The salary range offered for this role is $84,745-104,685. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
