Purpose
To provide support to the Tax Manager with achieving departmental goals and covering Reporting and compliance duties for the Operating company in a timely manner.
• This role will be mainly focused to provide support to the Tax Manager on: o Deferred Tax Calculations ( ETR Methodology, hard close and Year end calculations) o UTPs calculation and Valuation allowance o Reporting activity to prepare explanations to accounting team or corporate offices and power point slides o Support to prepare and review working papers to comply with the blackline account certifications o Help to review ESTMA, economical report or any other report related to tax payments.
• As a second task this person will share responsibilities with other two members of the team to complete the Dictamen Fiscal´s exhibits, to be able to comply on time with this tax deliverable. • In addition this role will be heavily involved in the Federal tax audits, gathering, and reviewing information collected from both internal and external parties for both purposes, including defense files • Provide support to the tax manager to review documents, support and payments with Intercompany, including support on Transfer Pricing area as needed
Responsibilities
Tax Accounting and Reporting 60% •Help to prepare tax provision calculations ETR and complete method with actuals, • Review tax accounts balance reconciliations, • Tax cash projections review • Help to the management to prepare reports as need to provide explanations of variations • Prepare and update UTP calculations.
Dictamen Fiscal 15% • Work jointly with the team to complete the annual tax report (Dictamen fiscal) Intercompany
Transactions 10% • Provide support to the tax manager to review documents, support and payments with Intercompany, including support on Transfer Pricing area as needed
Tax Audit 15% • Provide support preparing information and gathering and review from other areas information needed to response Federal tax audits. • Provide support to the management to have enough information to prepare responses to the tax audits in process. • Provide support to the management to prepare defense files to anticipate work for future tax audits. • Maintain a reliable tax filing system, while consulting with other departments to coordinate information for tax audits. • Generate continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
Deep knowledge on Deferred Income Tax calculations under USGAAP
Intermediate to advance English-speaking skills.
Experience to manage an ERP accounting system / SAP preferable
Advanced knowledges of Excel program
Experience attending audit process
Knowledge about Dictamen Fiscal annual report
Strong communications skills, promoting and cooperating to create teamwork.
Experience
7 years in tax area, experience in one of the big four desirable ( at least 4 years).
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a tax compliance or advisory position with a “Big 4” accounting firm.
Experience working in-house for a mining company is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem solving, communication, leadership, and project management skills.
High level of motivation.
Professional Education
Certify Public Accountant with specialization in taxes.
