We are seeking a team leader for the Processing Utilities team, comprising Newmont Employees and Business Partners at Boddington's 41MTPA Processing Plant.

 

You will be setting clear expectations, providing on the job mentoring and ensuring the team is proficient in, and aligned to the latest procedures & practices associated with safely maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and operational efficiency of the Boddington Processing Plant.


Accountabilities will include;

  • Promote, align with, and demonstrate leadership with respect to NBG’s Health Safety and Security (HSS), Environmental and Community Relations Policies, Standards and Procedures.
  • Work closely with key partners across operations and maintenance and build and maintain strong working relationships with all Process Utilities internal customers
  • Provide coordination and act as a point of authority to ensure work outputs are completed safely and are in line with operational requirements.
  • Actively encouraging personnel to participate in continuous improvement, gathering their initiatives and providing feedback.
  • Lead effective toolbox meeting for crew to prepare to safely achieve the work of the shift ahead, allocate tasks to the team to ensure the wider processing and maintenance team safely meet required outcomes.
  • Celebrate the successes of the crew managing interpersonal dynamics, training needs, rosters and performance management and ensuring crew interacts effectively with other teams across site.
  • Completion of safety interactions, QA/QC and audit of teams safety interactions; Safety & Environmental Inspections and investigations, and Support Social Responsibility strategies, policies and practices.
  • Work with Shutdown Planners to ensure operations shutdown preparations are conducted safely and that there are sufficient resources available to meet all schedules and ensure high quality of work.
  • Ensure contractors complete required general & work area inductions and required documentation is acquired associated with their scope of work.
  • Ensure that the processing facility operates in accordance with NBG’s statutory requirements and a that high housekeeping standards are maintained in the Process Plant.

 

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Your prior experience in a large scale gold or base metals and milling operations at a Supervisory level, knowledge and understanding of statutory regulations for the mining industry together with excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail are sought for this position.


You will be self-motivated, with well-developed skills in problem solving and mentoring and capable of balancing multiple complex tasks in a dynamic and changing environment.
 

Qualifications Checklist

  • Training and Assessment (desirable).
  • Cert IV Front Line Management (desirable).
  • Certificate IV Metalliferous Mining Operations(desirable).
  • Current “A” Class drivers licence.
  • First Aid Certificate.
