Newmont - Scholarship Programs

The Maintenance Training Cooperative (MTC) Scholarship Program, supported by Newmont and businesses, provides individuals with a unique opportunity to start a career in a technical trade. Scholarship recipients will receive a $5,000 scholarship to Great Basin College (GBC) to help cover the tuition, fees, and books for their fast paced Certificate/Associate of Applied Science degree program. In most cases, this scholarship includes an internship, where students will have the opportunity to apply their new skills in a real work environment. Selected students must be 18 years old to be eligible to participate in the internship portion of the scholarship. Applicants are required to take a mechanical aptitude test to be considered for this scholarship.
