Newmont’s Emerging Talent Program helps recent graduates transition from the classroom to the workplace by providing the skills and knowledge necessary to forge a career in our industry. Participants who complete this two-year program often continue on in full-time roles at Newmont.

We believe that a diverse experience early in a career helps broaden one’s business acumen for a more rewarding career path. With this goal in mind, some of our locations may offer regional rotational experience as well as a formal mentor and a customized learning and development curriculum.

Newmont considers candidates for our Emerging Talent Program who have demonstrated success both in and outside the classroom.

Application deadlines and qualifications for our program vary by region:

Australia and North America

Participants are selected from recent graduates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in technical or business programs who have less than 12 months of post-university work experience.

Africa

Participants are selected from various private and public universities and from communities near our operations.
The first year of the program also counts toward participants’ one-year National Service requirement in Ghana. The second year provides participants the opportunity to undertake a one-year working contract with Newmont in Ghana.

Participants' cumulative grade-point average and extracurricular activities are considered for selection.

South America

Candidates must be in the top 10 percent of their university class and must send a formal letter from the university validating this information. In an effort to support the development of our local communities, we have been focusing our recruitment endeavor mainly on universities from Cajamarca.
