Dimensions
This position reports to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor.
Purpose
The Service Person (Lube Technician) will ensure fuel and lubrication activities are completed safely while supporting the maintenance team as needed. This person will have a basic understanding of all surface mobile equipment. They will also service and perform minor repairs to equipment and assist mechanics when required.
Essential Duties
- Operating Lift truck/ Forklift/Lube truck
- Working independently and safely
- Performing general housekeeping
- Handle materials
- Move supplied and maintain lube station
- Perform visual inspection and report equipment deficiencies
- Perform within compliance of WHMIS
- Lifting, rigging, hoisting
- Other duties as assigned by the Frontline Supervisor
Training & Experience
- High School Diploma
- Must be able to work independently and safely
- Fall arrest training an asset
- Heavy machinery experience an asset
- Mechanical knowledge an asset
- Surface Common Core an asset
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- WHMIS certified an asset
- Ability to operate a Lube truck an asset
- Ability to operate Lift truck/ Forklift an asset
- Certification in lifting, rigging, hoisting course an asset
- Must be able to work independently and safely
Working Conditions
- This job is located at Dome, part of Newmont's Porcupine mine site near Timmins, ON.
- In this role you will work a 5x5x4 schedule, as such if you do not live in the area, we will require relocation.
