This position reports directly to the Frontline Supervisor.

Purpose

 

  • Is responsible for their health and safety as well as others.  
  • Will correct or report unsafe practices or conditions.  
  • Maintains a safe and healthy place to work.  
  • Make suggestions to improve any aspect of safety and correct issues wherever possible. 
  • Will understand and follow Newmont policies and procedures as outlined in the FRM handbook.   
  • Learns and follows the safety rules and procedures for safe performance of the job.

Essential Duties

 

  • Must be able to safely operate (licensed) mobile equipment including grader, fuel truck, and other service & utility vehicles, forklifts, Haul Truck, boom trucks.  
  • Deliver fuel to designated areas 
  • Grade roadways underground as required 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Frontline Supervisor

Training & Experience

 

  • High School Diploma  
  • Underground Common Core Certificate  
  • U0013 Operate Lifting Mechanism(s) 
  • U0014 Operate Fork Lift 
  • U0022 Operate Grader 
  • U0024 Operate Utility Vehicle 
  • U0091 Operate Haulage Truck 
  • Minimum of two (2) – three (3) years mining experience 
  • Experience as a Service Person or outside equivalent  

Working Conditions

 

  • This job is located at Hoyle Pond, part of Newmont's Porcupine mine site near Timmins, ON.
  • In this role you will work a 5x5x4 schedule, as such if you do not live in the area, we will require relocation.
