Purpose

Reporting to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Superintendent you are responsible for all planning and reliability functions within the Granites Operations Maintenance Department at Newmont Tanami Operation. You will ensure that all such work is conducted in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner whilst minimising the impact on production and ensuring compliance with Newmont standards and statutory obligations.

Essential Duties

  • Supervising planners in the development of robust weekly maintenance schedules
  • Supervising the development of long term fixed plant major maintenance plans.
  • Supervising the development of fixed plant shutdown plans.
  • Establishing and tracking work management KPI’s that identify issues and drive improved planning practices.
  • Supporting the development of LOM equipment maintenance strategies
  • Identify and implement reliability improvements for fixed plant equipment
  • Responsible for all equipment condition monitoring, NDT and statutory testing
  • Support capital expenditure program by assisting with AFE development
  • Overview, provide direction and act as a technical reference point and mentor for staff while ensuring work outputs are in line with strategic plans and budgets

Training & Experience

  • Trade/Tertiary Qualification or Engineering Degree
  • 8-10 years Mining/Heavy Industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years Supervisory experience
  • Strong PC skills and computer literacy
  • Strong SAP knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance planning processes
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of reliability practices and asset management
  • “A” class driver’s license
