Process Supervisor

Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040.  The successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering modern leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

 

Reporting to the Processing Superintendent, you will be targeted with achieving the safety, production and budget targets through developing improvement strategies and coordinating the effective and efficient use of personnel, resources,  plant and equipment.

In this 8/6 roster you and your team will work either days or night for the duration of your roster cycle, followed by 6 days R&R. As a Team Leader within the Process Plant you will proactively promote and adhere to NTO’s Occupational Health and Safety, Environment and Community Relations policies and procedures, through consistent demonstration and active encouragement to all employees.

Specifically your duties will include;

  • Ensure your team is resourced and trained so they are sufficiently skilled to complete allocated duties.
  • Provide direction and act as a technical reference point and mentor for your team.
  • Schedule and allocate resources to ensure operational requirements are achieved in a safe, timely, and cost effective manner.
  • Completing  safety system audits and undertaking inspections and task observations and actively implementing solutions to resolve these issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with the Maintenance Supervisors to ensure optimum equipment performance and availability.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards in the processing Plant.
  • Liaise with the Metallurgical staff to ensure optimum metallurgical performance of the processing plant.

  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience within a Mineral Processing Plant.
  • Capability to achieve results in a dynamic and changing work environment.
  • Interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Sound numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the statutory regulations relevant to safety and the environment for the mining industry.
  • Experience with automated computer control systems (SCADA).
  • Current "A" Class Drivers Licence.
  • Sound experience with Microsoft computer software (word and excel).
  • Experience in producing standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and training documentation.
  • Qualifications in Training, Supervision or Processing.
  • Proof of current Covid-19 vaccination is required as per the NT Government direction
