Flights and Site Access Administrator

Our Tanami Operations, 540km north-west of Alice Springs, are on Aboriginal freehold land, in the NT’s remote Tanami Desert. A fully equipped 1200-bed village, 40km from the mine, offers modern leisure facilities to the workforce who FIFO direct from Perth, Darwin and Alice Springs.

The Role

Reporting to the Facilities & Administration Superintendent, the Admin Assistant – Flights & Site Access will provide administrative services and related support to the Tanami Operation with a key focus on the daily management of Newmont’s Site Access & Flights processes by ensuring they are operationally productive and meeting the needs of our site.

The role is based in Tanami and offers an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, Darwin & Alice Springs ONLY.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate the administration functions in all relevant software systems
  • Identifying problems with submissions and assist with resolution.
  • Influencing both internal and external partners to ensure streamline Site Access processes are practiced and adhered to.
  • Responsible for directing accurate information to the Senior Administrator/ Superintendent Facilities & Administration to ensure accurate allocation of flights and accommodation for all new employees, short term workers, shutdown workers and visitors, plus directing relevant workflow.
  • Ensure work completed and processes are in line with site access and flight policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the management of expenses, accommodation, travel bookings/amendments in a timely manner.

The Person

  • Experience using SAP, Inflight and data management systems
  • Experience in a similar flight administrative/secretarial role.
  • Mining or heavy industry experience desirable
  • Proficient and accurate typing/keyboard skills.
  • Advanced skills in a wide range of computer programs, in particular Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Visio Professional, and Outlook.
