Our Tanami Operations, 540km north-west of Alice Springs, are on Aboriginal freehold land, in the NT’s remote Tanami Desert. A fully equipped 1200-bed village, 40km from the mine, offers modern leisure facilities to the workforce who FIFO direct from Perth, Darwin and Alice Springs.

The Role

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent role, the Admin Assistant – Mining will provide administrative services and related support to the Mining team.

The role is based in Tanami and offers an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, Darwin & Alice Springs ONLY.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide administrative support to the mining department.
  • Assist with the on-boarding of new employees by ordering PPE.
  • SAP – goods release, work orders, service requisitions and service entries
  • Assist and participate in the Document Control and Records Management system for relevant area of responsibility.
  • Ensuring documents are maintained, filed and archived when required
  • Ensures all statutory appointments are in place and updated as required
  • Assist with the distribution of site communication and ensures all Information Bulletins and communications are displayed and appropriately archived.
  • Assist with the compilation of Daily Start Report by entering information for allocated department in the required timeframe.
  • Assist and work with stakeholders by ensuring timely responses to requests for information and assistance.
  • Raise Stationery orders and maintain stock levels for the allocated department/s.
  • Generating and analysing daily, weekly and monthly reports required by Supervisor / Manager.
  • Assist and support in other Administrative areas when required
  • Provide support with other requests & adhoc items as requested by Supervisor (Direct / Matrix)Assist with the arrangement/s and minute taking of meetings within area of responsibility.
The Person
  • Previous experience in a similar mining and/or construction administration role.
  • Previous experience using SAP.
  • Previous Fly-in Fly-out experience.
  • Proficient and accurate typing/keyboard skills.
  • Advanced skills in a wide range of computer programs, in particular Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Visio Professional, and Outlook.
  • Numerical accuracy.
  • High attention to detail whilst maintaining an organisational perspective.
  • Able to show initiative and have the ability to work independently.
  • Experienced, self-motivated person trained in broad range of administrative skills.
  • Understanding of document/report generation and presentation.
  • Excellent ability to communicate (orally, writing and reading).
  • To manage time effectively, be task orientated and able to set goals.
  • Ability to work harmoniously, part of a team and operate in a matrix based role.
  • Customer Service focused.
  • Maintain Confidentiality & Discretion.
