Purpose

The Warehouse Technician II will ensure and maintain accurate logs of all cargo transportation and goods, monitor deliveries and proceed with transport planning.

Essential Duties

  • Read, comprehend, interpret and learn Material Safety Data Sheet, labels on products, warning signs, and instruction manuals to prevent loss of personnel, property and process. 
  • Timely feedback to end-users regarding the status of any requested inventory item.
  • Interact with other Department at Merian Mine to support the Supply Chain’s activities.
  • Initiatives to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work activities.
  • Ability to work either independent or as part of a team and have good problem-solving skills. 
  • Receiving, dispatching, cycle counts and work on projects.
  • Working with the SAP System

Training & Experience

  • Middle School  (HAVO/VWO/Natin/AMS), Trades Degree
  • Computer skills: MS Office, Advance Excel and Word.
  • Excellent English, fluency in Dutch is an asset.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Warehousing.
  • Issue reservations and credit reservations
  • Able to Operate the Various equipment from the warehouse.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must have ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Word and Excel applications 
  • Strong PC skills using MS office software 
  • Demonstrate high level of accuracy with all work assignment.  
  • Ability to learn and detail oriented.
  • Display good judgement and be pro-active with work assignments.
  • Take on personal responsibility with health and safety, as well as seek opportunities to continually improve safety in work area.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and work to complete team goals.  
  • Ability to document work assignments and tie to unit costing.
     

Working Conditions

  • The position is located at the Merian mine site.
  • Work day shift.
  • Work Schedule 14x7x11.5 hours. 
  • Work in a Warehouse and Laydown Yard. 
  • Must comply with provincial health and safety regulations, company policies and procedures and the company's environmental policy. 
  • Must be able to work under all weather conditions.
  • Wear personal protective equipment including hardhat, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, respirators, self-contained breathing apparatus, earplugs, gloves, or any other equipment to perform duties safely.
  • Must have a light vehicle drivers’ license valid for Suriname.
