The Surface Operations Coordinator is part of the Surface Operations management team. He/she plans and supports the activities related to surface operations, such as the water treatment systems and the maintenance activities related to the surface infrastructures, such as road, bridges, tailing storage facilities and others. 

 
   

DESCRIPTION

  • Plan and control the annual schedule of tasks of the Surface Operations Group, which includes all the sectors under this group's responsibility
    • Coordinate performance with the supervisors
    • Ensure cost management and tracking explain the variances in relation to the budget
  • Deploy and track key performance indicators
  • Track aggregate inventories
  • Participate in drafting and approval of the work instructions and procedures
  • Ensure the compliance of the surface facilities and execution of the action plans in progress
  • Ensure monitoring of the tailings storage facility in relation to Newmont's standards and best practices
    • Point of contact with the external stakeholders
  • Planning and monitoring of reclamation of certain sectors of the mining site
  • Compliance with the regulations (provincial and federal) in force by fully applying the government agreements (ECOFA), working jointly with the Environment Department.
  • Establish the calendar of projects of the Surface Operations Group
    • Prioritize the projects and evaluate the costs
    • Prepare the specifications, calls for tenders and follow-ups
    • Draft applications to obtain capital for the performance of projects
    • Plan the use of equipment and labour
    • Monitor performance of projects with the supervisors
    • Track budgets
  • Replace supervisors during their vacations
  • Perform all other tasks related to the performance of his/her duties
  • Schedule : 14 days of work followed by 14 days off

REQUIREMENTS

  • University or college diploma in Civil Engineering
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in one of the fields covered by this offer
  • Good computer skills: MS Office Suite, SAP an asset.
  • Experience in planning and project management
  • Valid driver's licence (mandatory)
  • Bilingualism (mandatory)
