Newmont Australian Operations are located in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, and New South Waltes with roles in operations, projects, and exploration.  Regional Support is provided from our offices in Subiaco and Melbourne.

Our Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity within our global Commercial team for a Manager, Sales and Marketing within our Australian region.

 

In this pivotal leadership role, you will lead and coordinate the Australian regions concentrate logistics, be accountable for securing, negotiating and managing the ocean freight for all of Newmont’s managed operations in Australia.

You will be responsible for optimising the Sales and Marketing process regionally and contributing globally to ensure Newmont is optimising the execution of its sales contracts and driving value out of the process.

 

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Manage and negotiate ocean freight contracts for concentrate shipments, acting as a primary point of contact with ship brokers, agents, ship owners, port operations and mine site to coordinate all activities associated with shipping concentrates in bulk carriers from load port to customer’s receiving operations.
  • Communicate with operations regarding production forecasts, product qualities, budget forecasts and product movements.
  • Support and oversee the concentrate shipments and sales, including review of invoices and other documentation for assets including, but not limited to Telfer, Boddington, and Cadia.
  • Manage and ensure the timely and accurate settlement and reporting of all Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation.
  • Provide logistical oversight and support for the Australian regions by-product administration.
  • Liaise and collaborate with multiple parties to collate and provide information required for monthly valuation, SOX controls, and supporting site accounting and operations.
  • Develop the skills and abilities of direct reports through ongoing performance measurement and feedback. Provide career guidance and function as a champion and mentor for all resources in the Sales and Marketing organisation.

About You 

We are seeking a driven leader with a range of skills and experience within the concentrate sales environment; you may come from a finance, accounting, shipping, brokering, or an operations background. Qualifications in Business, Metallurgy, Geology, or Finance will also highly complement your experience.
