Manager - Operational Support Hub (OSH) Projects

About The Role:

Reporting to the Senior Director – Operational Support Hubs, you will be responsible for developing and executing the long term standardisation strategy, including the day-to-day management, governance, and communications necessary to align fixed plant automation systems globally. This entails managing a large scale technical program that will execute agreed deliverables on schedule and on budget utilizing standard project management methodologies and tools.

In This Role You Will:
  • Support corporate project team/s with the design of fixed plant automation systems in all new plants to ensure they are designed, constructed and commissioned in accordance with relevant corporate global standards
  • Design and deliver an upgrade strategy to align fixed plant automation systems across Newmont’s existing operations and effectively manage the risks associated with obsolete equipment
  • Develop delivery team structure, roles and responsibilities, change management and communication plans necessary to execute the strategy
  • Establish, manage and coordinate the required cross-organizational project teams to successfully upgrade fixed plant automation systems across multiple operating sites in parallel
  • Develop operational readiness plans to support effective and seamless transition post upgrade
  • Implement and manage strategic global partnership agreements with selected fixed plant automation vendors and suppliers to maximise return on investment
  • Secure funding, manage project budgets, provide informed forecasts and work closely with appropriate resources to track actual and forecast future expenses
  • Develop a project management Knowledge Base through documentation of process and practices, lessons learned, content development and shared learnings across the various upgrades while building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Your Skills, Training & Experience Chcklist:
  • Extensive technical experience across Instrumentation, Process Control and Electrical disciplines
  • Strong understanding of Industrial Control Systems (DCS and PLC) with proven experience planning and executing upgrades of aging equipment in operating plants
  • Ten plus years’ experience in minerals processing facilities operating in multiple locations / countries.
  • Technical fluency; comfortable understanding and discussing technology concepts and experience understanding technical impacts on scope
  • Knowledge of Yokogawa CENTUM DCS, Rockwell and Schneider PLC’s, Citect SCADA advantageous but not essential
  • Proven ability to identify, assess and manage risk at a project, site and enterprise level
  • Best practice project management methodologies and techniques, and industry standard project management certification e.g. PMP, etc.
