Newmont Exploration in the region is based in Perth, but operates across Australia. The group is responsible for growing Newmont’s current operations in WA and NT and discovering new deposits across Australia. The team has access to in-house global technical specialists in applying the latest exploration technology in its quest for discovery. 
 
Newmont Australian operations are located in Western Australia and the Northern Territory with roles in operations, projects and exploration. The regional exploration team are based out of our Welshpool Exploration Office.

The Role:
This role is based in NSW on a flexible 5:2 roster as part of our Australian Generative Exploration Team. This role will report to the Principal Geologist who is also based in NSW and you will have exposure to regional exploration activities Australia wide. 
 
Key Accountabilities:
•    Coordinate and support execution of early stage work programs which lead to discovery, extension or development of mineralisation which in turn contributes to resource replacement and growth across the Australia-Pacific region.
•    Coordinate JV commitments in conjunction with the Principal Geologist.
•    Contribute as a key member of a team of professional and technical staff which delivers high quality work.
•    Ensure that all assigned exploration activities are managed to maintain goals of zero harm and SER compliance.    
 

 

About You:
•    Bachelors or higher degree in Geosciences or related field broad and varied experience, including significant supervisory responsibilties.
•    Ideally requires a minimum of 10 years of applicable industry experience in generative exploration. 
•    Additional experience in resource model evaluation and near-mine exploration and familarity with exploration and/or deposit economc evaluations are considered important.
•    Must have effective verbal and written communication skills for presentations to senior and executive management.
