The Dispatcher Engineer is Responsible for the reliability and functionality of Fleet Management Systems (Modular Mining system) and associated technologies within Operations, Mine Technical Services, Maintenance, also the promotion of health, safety, and environmental management (HSE) within the department.


Coordinate activities and develop solutions to improve the reliability and performance of the systems and provide Continuous Improvement of the mining operation

Assist the on-site key personnel in utilizing all necessary FMS applications critical to the business

Work closely with other departments such as planning, production, survey, geology and maintenance to ensure (through measured KPI’s) that the fleet management systems are working effectively

Ensuring Dispatch systems are reliable, and data is accurate

Maintain control over mine personnel and ensuring processes are optimized in the systems (lineup, shift change, break lunch rotators, fuel procedures, etc.)

Facilitate production and coding reconciliation meetings

Maintain the bridge between mine users and Modular for the Dispatch and Trimble system.

Ensure coding of equipment is aligned with Global coding

Demonstrate a good understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and the development and application of mitigating measures

Essential Duties

Collect data and analyze trends, patterns, summaries, and meaning

Create visual data to report
Carry out the validation of the reliability and quality of the information of the Dispatch system

Determine reasons behind a business past successes or failures via data analysis

Provide supervision, training, coaching and support for all personnel interacting with the dispatch information (and other software) data base

Provide integral analysis of the process assuming production and cost variances.

Pro-actively contribute to production output and efficiencies by understanding and integrating the business strategic needs with dispatching

Proposing and implementing continuous Improvement (Full potential) initiatives ensuring benefits are gained through information generated by the Dispatch System tactics

Identifying specific areas for production improvements and ensuring development and action plan implementation in place to achieve these gains, carry out an optimized dispatch to the current conditions with the fleet management system, seeking to reach or exceed the plan of the day

Must be a highly effective communicator with excellent oral communication skills and a proven ability to persuade, motivate and gain the cooperation and consensus of a diverse group of stakeholders, disciplines and functions to ensure short term operational objectives are achieved in an efficient manner

Working Conditions

3-5 years’ experience in open pit mine utilizing shovels, large trucks and drills (desirable).

Advanced PC skills and computer literacy including experience with global mine planning (GMP) software packages, drill and blast tools, ore control system tools, reporting tools and production monitoring/Fleet Management System tools.

Familiar with data analysis tools, Power Bi, Trimble,
