Join Newmont! As a Senior Analyst, you will provide BPC and SAP systems support and guidance to Americas region to ensure accurate and consistent reporting of accounting and operational results. Ensure adequate analysis and QAQC of systems & process changes to avoid errors and incorrect accounting treatment for the operations within the region. Support Manager, Americas GL Accounting, North and South America Assistant Controllers and Americas Regional Controller to develop and implement systems and process focused accounting & reporting initiatives. Coordinate and support the Director, Integration and Finance Systems on all corporate process and systems improvements projects on behalf of the Americas Accounting team. Coordinating with regional controllers, project services, and other corporate functions.

In this role you will
  • Assist in ensuring timely resolution of systems and access issues
  • Ensure processes and internal controls align with systems design and reliance and in accordance with the Newmont Global SOX standards
  • Provide solutions to accounting & reporting changes/issues in collaboration with our Director, Integration and Finance Systems and systems teams
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the Director, Integration and Finance Systems to ensure systems upgrades/changes are implemented accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure appropriate regional team resources are available to review and test systems upgrades/changes.
  • Provide systems training & guidance to Americans regional team members.
  • Ensure systems and process controls designs and documentation are updated in a timely manner.
  • Provide support for SOX systems program testing and coordination.
  • Perform special projects as required, such as: GAAP conversions, acquisitions/divestitures, accounting and reporting systems upgrades/changes and audit related activities.

Your training, skills & experience checklist
Working conditions & location


  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Master's degree and professional certifications preferred 6 to 7 years experience in the mining or extractive industries in a planning, budgeting, accounting, tax and/or financial management role
  • Strong systems focus and significant experience with SAP and BPC (Consolidation and Planning)
  • CPA and advanced degree preferred
  • You will need knowledge of US GAAP, SEC rules & regulations and internal controls systems design.
  • Team and project management experience required.
  • Detail oriented with ability to understand bigger picture.
  • Knowledge of mine accounting (site/region experience preferred).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills.
  • High level of motivation, requiring minimal direction/supervision, and assertive diplomacy necessary.
