Essential Duties


Scope and Responsibilities

The internship will ideally be from May 2019 – August 2019. The exact dates are flexible depending on the student’s availability. It is assumed that the internship will be fulltime (40 hours/week) during the summer. Interns will receive a stipend.  


The work will be designed to execute with little supervision at the Corporate Headquarters located in Greenwood Village, CO, and the company’s Denver Exploration Office in Centennial.  There is ample opportunity for internal networking around the company.


The intern will be responsible for implementing specific Exploration projects during the course of his or her internship, as well as supporting the day-to-day activities of the department. The exact projects will be determined according to the intern’s availability, interest, skills, and experience.


Possible projects include:

  • Research into gold deposits and their grade and endowment characteristics
  • Research into different gold deposit types and their global distribution
  • Research into global gold terrains
  • Research exploration properties and complete mineral potential analysis
  • Review published exploration results and compile geologic data for the subject properties
  • Support technical and economic evaluation of exploration targets

Training & Experience


  • 2nd Year Graduate or PhD students who are studying Economic Geology and graduating in December 2019 or later
  • Women and students with experiences of different and diverse cultures are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Experience in the mining industry
  • Organized and good project management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills & comfort engaging senior leaders and global teams
  • Strong research methods capability and writing skills
  • At least a 3.0 GPA or equivalent
