Business Planning works to develop the annual business plan, quarterly forecasts, and is instrumental in reporting and analysis for Newmont. 

Essential Duties


Scope and Responsibilities


The internship will ideally be from May 2019 – August 2019. The exact dates are flexible depending on the student’s availability. It is assumed that the internship will be full time (40 hours/week) during the summer. Interns will receive a stipend.  


The Planning Internship


The work will be designed to execute and assist in the development of the 2020 business plan, support monthly internal performance reporting and analysis and assist with continuous improvement and other ad hoc projects.  There is opportunity for internal networking around the company.


Potential projects include:

  • Assist in preparing for the 2020 business plan development
  • Provide support on monthly internal performance reporting and analysis
  • Assist in building and interpreting financial models and statements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement programs and projects
  • Assist in validations of reports, presentations and models
  • Maintain dashboards, spreadsheets and other metric-driven tools
  • Contribute to departmental communications work
  • Other ad hoc projects and duties as assigned

Training & Experience


  • An undergraduate or graduate degree with a focus in Finance or Accounting is preferred
  • At least a 3.0 GPA or equivalent
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Organized and efficient time manager with demonstrated ability to work unsupervised

Working Conditions


This position will take place at the Newmont Corporate Headquarters in Greenwood Village, CO.
