Purpose

Support the Business Planning team in the preparation of regional business plans, forecasts, flash reports by managing plan preparation whilst coordinating the plan submission between regional and site stakeholders, and analysis and communication of the plan to improve understanding and transparency of the regional plan story.

Essential Duties

  • Maintenance of an integrated regional business planning calendar including working with corporate, sites and functional teams to build in their inputs into the planning process to ensure timely and accurate plan development.

  •   Proactively reviews and provides feedback on the effectiveness of all business planning processes at sites and functional areas.

  •   Working with corporate communications to align regional plan presentation and communication of the plan through the region.

  • Responsible for design, maintenance and staff of the planning framework to improve regional awareness of the planning process including length of time to develop, alter and communicate stages in the planning process.

  • Design operational performance review framework and functional performance review templates. Maintain and improve business performance process that includes performance management, monitoring systems, and actual versus plan that allows sites and functional areas to explain variances from plan and communicate through a formal forum.

  • Manage the consolidation and reporting of quarterly flash report submissions to corporate including ensuring accountability while streamlining and simplifying the process to improve the effectiveness and usefulness of the flash process

Training & Experience

  • Minimum 5-8 years planning and financial experience, including planning and analysis; preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts; variance analysis of physical and financial plans; coordination of multi-disciplinary studies; and presentation and justification of budgets to management and executive audiences.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • Strong technical skills including ability to analyze inventory, reclamation, tax, fixed assets changes.
  • Broad understanding of operational and service functional areas within the mining industry
  • Strong inter-personal relationship skills and problem solving skills are required
  • Strong leadership and decision making skills
