About this role

  • Would you like to support overall objectives of our sales and marketing team including providing analysis on customer receivables, receipt timing, assay results among other critical information to negotiating agreements with customers?

As our Concentrates Analyst, you will be primarily responsible for the recognition of concentrate revenue and collections of accounts receivable supporting Newmont's Penasquito site. This includes the preparation of multiple invoices involving calculations based on assays, weights, and prices which are compiled for each contract. In addition, the role is responsible for preparing month-end accounting deliverables related to concentrates for Peñasquito as well as forecast/budget analysis.

In this role you will
  • Maintain and reconcile all concentrate sales to Mineman and review invoices before they are sent to the customer.
  • Review and maintain information within the Mineman system to ensure all inputs are accurate and current and reconcile to forecast and production spreadsheets provided by the Penasquito team.
  • Coordinate and review cash inflows and follow up on any past due balances with customers related to concentrate sales activity. To ensure AR balances are accurate and reconcile to the GL on a monthly basis. For any overdue balances inform Director of Sales and Marketing and Corporate Treasury promptly.
  • Support the sales and marketing team in executing objectives related to the global non-dore sales

Your training, skills & experience

Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance, IT or related field
  • Mineman and/or SAP system knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of IFRS and/or U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP)

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • 2+ years professional experience in the mining industry preferred, specifically in a concentrate sales environment

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Spanish language skills strongly desired
  • Exhibited strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be well organized and have a strong attention to detail
  • Must have ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Word and Excel applications
  • Strong PC skills using MS office software
Working Conditions and Location
  • The position will sit in the Greenwood Village, CO Corporate Office.
  • Willingness to longer hours and weekends as projects and priorities instruct.
