Purpose

  • The position’s purpose is to support the Group Executive, Processing in planning and overseeing functional projects, programs, processes, systems, and strategies to enable success across the global function and cross functionally within Technical Services.
  • The position also provides critical and confidential administrative assistance to the Group Executive, Processing and Metallurgy.

Essential Duties

  • Engage and collaborate with functional and TS leadership and others across the business to develop, define, and deliver on top business priorities.
  • Lead/facilitate and organize key functional meetings to achieve desired outcomes (i.e. staff and leadership meetings, business reviews, presentations, lunch and learns, etc.).
  • Partner closely with the GE, Processing and Metallurgy to support key areas of work to allow the GE to focus on the highest priorities.
  • Engage across the organization to ensure alignment and quickly connect information and people, as required to drive special projects and programs to desired outcomes.
  • Perform analysis, prepare and coordinate material for budget reporting for all TS Processing cost centers including projects charge outs. Facilitate, compile, coordinate and upload all material for the annual Business planning process for TS Processing.
  • Maintain and drive continuous improvement in TS Processing and Newmont Metallurgical Services systems and processes including work management, value creation delivery, and progress against Strategic Business Platform targets (R&D).
  • Provide project and program facilitation and oversight as needed to ensure project objectives are met, provide issue resolution and alignment on targets and success measures.
  • Lead and direct global collaborative work efforts, collegiates, communities of practice, applying influence to work effectively across various time zones in the global environment.
  • Research and compile communications encompassing monthly/quarterly reports, announcements, internal and external presentations, and monthly performance reports.
  • Manage functional team Sharepoint site and Document Control System in support of above.
  • Liaise with Supply Chain to manage all consulting service and equipment contracts.
  • Provide leadership to improve the TS Processing Management Operating System (Laboratory, R&D, Safety, Work Management, etc) on a continuous basis.

Training & Experience

Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Science/Engineering preferred
  • Project Management training or experience required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years business experience, preferably in the mining industry.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication, change management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Must be able to manage business projects and hold the functional leadership team accountable to individual and team commitments.
  • Must anticipate needs and demonstrate proactive actions.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work un-supervised for extended periods.
  • Demonstrated working proficiency in MS Office Software required.
  • Working proficiency with SAP, One View, SharePoint preferred.

Working Conditions

  • The position is located in Denver at the Malozemoff Technical Facility (MTF).
  • Occasional travel to other domestic and international sites may be required.
