Real Estate & Facilities Supervisor

About this role

What will you be responsible for?

  • Responsible for administering the global Real Estate portfolio lease management system and related tasks. Support ongoing landlord interaction.
  • Receive and process facility management requests for leased and subleased properties 
  • Assist with space planning, project management, building maintenance, warehousing and the coordination of contracted services as the need arises.
  • Process purchase requisitions for supplies and equipment, process invoices for payment and manager vendors as needed.
  • Assist with planning, budgeting, accounting, and scheduling for the department.
  • Provide support for delivering and maintaining global Real Estate and facility services that support Newmont’s business objectives globally. 

In this role you will

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
Global Real Estate Management

  • Act as liaison for third-party Lease Administration service provider, providing direction to service provider on lease audit requests and works with Lease Administration to confirm accuracy of all lease billing and subtenant charges
  • Review new leases and lease amendments and accurately enter the information in database
  • Ensure all leases be aligned with Newmont’s Corporate Real Estate standards
  • Tracking critical dates for a global real estate portfolio
  • Responsible for ensuring monthly base rent and additional rent payments are completed accurately, timely, and at the proper location for each HUB location
  • Provide guidance to Regional Controllers for lease obligations and operating increases for BP budget process
  • Generate rent analysis reports 
  • Audit annual operating expense reconciliations 
  • Assist with Sub-landlord responsibilities for all Newmont subleased properties globally  

Global Project Management

  • Attend project meetings to ensure all projects are properly coordinated and communicated to all internal groups as required and assist with special projects
  • Plan, lead and coordinate minor workspace modifications & construction activities and ensure they are in compliance with various OHS/EHS, Access, Fire & Safety standards
  • Work in preparing scope of work and project delivery resource requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, to ensure successful delivery of workplace projects, and they align with Newmont’s strategic goals, culture, and branding needs
  • Prepare anticipated cost reports and any other reports as required needed by our Finance & Accounting teams
  • Maintain all property records including leases, deeds, permits, facility and construction drawings, site plans, building specifications and other real estate records
  • Assist with negotiating contracts with selected vendor(s) and lead the performance of all contracted vendors, consultants, etc

North America Facilities Management

  • Assist with conducting facility assessments identifying areas of risk, deferred maintenance, savings opportunities, and performing corrective action plans
  • Support the Facilities team with badging, maintenance and general requests when needed 
  • Ensure preventive/predictive/reactive maintenance, sustainability and energy conservation practices within Newmont leased offices are performed in accordance with approved policies and procedures
  • Collect occupancy usage from each region quarterly and upload into leasing database. Print reports to proactively recommend solutions for future leasing and any capacity issues
  • Assist with planning and execution of emergency preparedness and disaster response for owned and leased facilities, delivering maximum resilience and business continuity
  • Handle resources and third-party service providers to deliver facility services at each location
  • Ensure all facilities are aligned with local, state, and federal codes and regulations

North America Budgets and Finance

  • Collaborate with finance and property tax teams regarding capital assets, furniture, fixture, and equipment inventories
  • Implement programs to reduce tax assessments as appropriate
  • Establish new vendors, generate purchase requisitions and SES’s for lease payments globally
  • Support budgeting processes

Your training, skills, & experience checklist

Here is what we would need to see from you!

  • Bachelor/Master degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years' relevant work experience
  • Strong analytical abilities, computation, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in, or exposure to, the fields of Real Estate and Real Estate Law, Space Planning, or Property Management is required
  • General knowledge of financial terms and principles required.
  • Intermediate experience in handling and interpreting budgets and finance, cost management and forecasts
  • Strong computer skills in office automation and various software applications using spreadsheets, word processing, and databases including MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project Manager, Adobe and AutoCAD.
  • Active member of CoreNet international
  • Professional certification as a Master of Corporate Real Estate (MCR) preferred. 
  • Active member of the Denver Chapter of International Facilities Management Association
  • Professional certification as a Facility Manager (FMP or CFM) or Project Manager (PMP) preferred. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior vendor relationship management experience.
  • Proficient interpersonal skills and executive presence.
  • Leadership and team building skills 

Working conditions & location

Where you will be located!

  • The position is located in the Denver corporate office.
  • Ongoing global travel to regional sites – estimate 25% travel.
  • Must be available for on-call duties 
  • Denver-based candidates preferred as relocation assistance is not available for this position

The salary range offered for this role is $80,410 to 99,330. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.   

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
