About this role
What will you be responsible for?
The Supplier Risk Management Governance position will be responsible for the Supplier Risk Management process and execution for Newmont globally. This position will supervise one full time analyst and will be the accountable Global owner of Newmont’s Supplier Risk Management framework. This position will be passionate about ensuring all functional areas of Newmont are in compliance to the Supplier Risk Management framework, will govern the framework and all respective processes, and will raise non-compliant activities.
Your role will consist of
Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
- We are accountable as the overall Owner and Governance lead for Newmont’s Supplier Risk management Framework ensuring compliance to all respective supplier risk management processes (spanning all functional areas of Newmont) (20%)
- We provide leadership, mentorship, and support to all functions (across all sites) when making decisions regarding processes and documents interacting with the supplier lifecycle process (15%)
- We drive compliance in the proactive registration of suppliers to prequalification and prepare and issue reports outlining non-compliance for the functions and operations (15%)
- When functional areas are out of compliance with defined Supplier Risk management processes, develop compliance remediation plans and enact strategies to drive behaviors through targeted communications, led acceleration, and training (15%)
- We are culpable as the lead interfacing role between Supply Chain and the functions to incorporate function specific supplier risk actions into category management plans (10%)
- We lead third party data inputs/ relationships, to ensure high quality data is used to support assessing risks and to ensure emerging risks are incorporated in the Supplier Risk Management global framework (10%)
- We develop, craft and distribute training materials and aides; and conduct training across all of Newmont’s international sites (10%)
- We maintain the integrity of the Supplier Risk Management framework, through regular reevaluation (5%)

Knowledge:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (business, finance, accounting, supply chain, engineering, or similar).
Experience:
- Encouraged 3-5 years’ supply chain or risk management experience, with a consistent record leading a strategic team, projects or a governance team.
- Experience in the mining industry highly regarded.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to handle a strategic team and be an effective delegator.
- Excellent time leadership skills, with an ability to work to tight deadlines taking care of a sophisticated set of partners across multiple regions.
- Effective and methodical communicator to all levels of the business (operations, various functions and senior leadership).
- Robust knowledge of supplier management and the application of governance frameworks to a sophisticated portfolio of suppliers.
- Strong PC skills using MS office software.
Working conditions and location
Where you will be located!
- The position is preferably based in the Denver corporate office.
- Position will require travel to other domestic and international sites.
The salary range offered for this role is $110,960 to 145,635. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
