About this role
The Head, People Business Partnership provides support and service to corporate leadership to implement their people work.
Your role will consist of
Growth Strategy/Governance:
- Support the senior leadership teams as People Business Partners, ensuring the consistent delivery of Enterprise People programs through the corporate functional teams.
- Establish the programs and plans for Corporate People Business Partners to implement and effectively support corporate business leaders in delivering the people systems throughout the organization.
- Provide guidance to the People Business Partner teams to ensure their actions and advice enable sustained high performance.
- Align the People initiatives with Enterprise functions objectives using the HR metrics framework to track the results of actions in supporting and enhancing the achievement of those goals.
- Advise CoEs of the operational and functional needs they need to consider for incorporating into the design of the People systems.
- Provide guidance to the Administrative Manager to ensure they provide effective administrative support to executives.

Operations Excellence:
- Support the People Function CoEs to implement programs and tools that support leaders in their role to enhance effective engagement with employees in line with the company values and team processes.
- Work with programs established by the Talent Management, Organization Effectiveness, and Total Rewards CoEs to disseminate the Operating Model principles and standards and associated tracking and monitoring systems to show that they are known and working effectively enabling corporate leadership to achieve their people goals.
- Facilitate changes in People related standards, policies and practices that are effectively planned, communicated and executed. Collaborate with CoEs to develop and incorporate change plans utilizing Newmont’s change management framework and tools.
- Implement and lead an effective administrative support model
- Support the organizational effectiveness team to undertake health checks utilizing Newmont’s organizational design blueprints and People Standards
- Utilize data-driven approaches to advise the business on best paths forward to achieve organizational effectiveness.
- Support the development of leaders by applying coaching techniques or recommending relevant programs provided through the Talent Management CoE.
- This role directly supports the COO as its People Business Partner.

- Lead and develop a team of professionals supporting the Executive Leadership Team members.
- Provide team members with consistent expectations, performance parameters, and development opportunities to build a high performing team, with succession opportunities.
- Provide input into the capability requirements for People Business Partners throughout the company Business Units and Sites, monitors and reports on their development needs.
- Displays the behaviors Newmont expects of its leaders.
- Advises on the effectiveness of the People Business Partner support work and roles.
Commercial:
Establishes and manages a budget for the business partners and administrative team
Your training, skills, and experience checklist
Knowledge:
Bachelor’s or graduate degree in organizational psychology, organizational development, business administration, social sciences and related fields.
Coaching principles or coaching certification.
HR systems: talent, total rewards, organization design, employee and labor relations.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency translating HR work, programs and advice to the language of the business, connecting objectives and actions with enterprise people strategy.
- Competent in labor law fundamentals in the US and other geographies where Newmont does business.
- Competent in the application of people systems and practices to the mining industry or aligned industries.
- Advanced proficiency in change management techniques and methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in employee engagement drivers and competent in applying them to day-to-day business environments.
- Competent proficiency in talent management, talent development and labor relations systems and methods.
- Competent proficiency in workforce planning and analyzing workforce trends.
- Competent proficiency in organizational design principles, operating models, and their application.
Working conditions and location
Role is Denver based.
Role will require occasional travel to Newmont international locations.

The salary range offered for this role is $204,000 - 242,250. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
