About this role

  • The Americas Service Center primarily exists to help current and former employees find answers to their questions and solve their complex HR problems. The team has recently moved from a U.S.-based support offering to a centralized Americas support model.  This broadened footprint will encompass approximately 11,000 employees located in our offices and sites in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Peru and Suriname.  This increased geography crosses several countries, multiple time zones and will support 4+ languages. 
  • The Americas HR Service Delivery Specialist is both a strategic and hands-on role providing analytical and project support to the HR Service Delivery function with a focus on the employee experience during onboarding.  The ideal candidate welcomes constant change and is someone who can be strategic and inventive, as well as excellent in tactical implementation and has a continuous improvement mindset around operational excellence.
  • This role operates with a high degree of independence, autonomy and use of good judgement, strong technical, problem solving and analytical skills.  The selected individual will develop sustainable, efficient, and effective onboarding processes to support customers within the parameters of the service level agreements (SLAs).  
  • This role will work closely with Site HR Managers / teams, HR Business Partners / Advisors, Communities of Expertise (Talent Acquisition, Global Mobility, Inclusion and Diversity, Benefits, Compensation, Talent Management, HR Technology, etc.), External Vendors, Legal, IT and Payroll to assess onboarding needs, efficiencies and points of alignment across the Americas footprint.  

Your role will consist of

  • Provide strategic counsel and partnership to Regional and Site Leaders on onboarding programs and approach based on external best practice and internal needs.  Partner with Regional and Site Leaders and their respective Site HR Managers to establish short-, medium- and long-term onboarding priorities. 
  • Analyzes onboarding processes and participates in solution development to ensure functional requirements are met and meetings are facilitated with key stakeholders
  • Ensure that onboarding programs are aligned with the overall business goals and objectives of the company in doing so, directly manage the design, implementation and administration of onboarding programs including all materials received by new starters or transfers prior to day one, on day one and 30, 60, 90 days after day one; significant importance will be placed on a consistent approach, look and feel but with latitude to incorporate local nuance and needs
  • Acts as team trainer for implementation of new processes, procedures, and policies and ensures that all processes and procedures are fully documented and updated for access in the Knowledge Base
  • Interacts with relevant onboarding stakeholder groups; minimum of quarterly, to discuss metrics, adoption and opportunities for improvement. Shares data and works to make improvements where necessary. Recognizes locations where adoption has been high and develops Service Delivery employees or managers where adoption has been low.  
  • Oversees intake of new onboarding work recommended by other teams to be completed by HR Service Delivery team. Develops and follows process for intake review. Once determination for work moved to HR Service Delivery Team is confirmed, communicates with team on next steps. If work is planned to move to HR Service Delivery team, begins implementation; including developing timeline, system changes, duties of team, and conducts training
  • Ensure overall compliance (process, approvals, etc.) from a HIPAA, business controls and SOX perspective for all onboarding processes
  • Recommend new approaches to continually improve efficiency of the HR Service Delivery team, drive consistency and create rigor and accuracy around the services performed / offered.  Identify and address opportunities for HR Service Delivery team to work more effectively with the onboarding stakeholders
  • Manage onboarding intranet and external communications site onboarding materials to ensure  accuracy and consistency.  Brand guidelines should be adopted for all onboarding materials and a consistent look and feel should be in place for all onboarding communications across the Americas Sites and Offices.   
  • Provide support for HR onboarding programs and projects including planning, stakeholdering, administration/execution and tracking of outcomes
  • Support end to end onboarding process, intake, customer experience and process improvement
  • Identifies and eliminates onboarding single points of failure in alignment with greater HR Service Delivery Team
  • A high degree of ownership, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and care are essential for this position

Your training, skills, and experience checklist


  • Ability to speak Spanish and/or French is highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP, SuccessFactors Employee Central and Benefit Focus preferred
  • General knowledge of U.S. federal and state employment laws preferred
  • Knowledge of multi-provincial Canadian employment law or local laws in Mexico, Argentina, Peru or Suriname highly desirable


  • Minimum four to six years of experience or equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary, Human Resources preferred

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills and excellent customer service skills
  • Must have ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Word and Excel applications 
  • Strong PC skills using MS office software
  • Ability to manage work across all areas of the business and function successfully within a multi-national/cultural environment
  • Ability to handle tight deadlines and multi-tasking is a must
  • Problem identification and commitment to action on identified issues
  • Ability to handle highly confidential material on a continuous basis in an extremely professional manner
  • Must be detail oriented and quality driven
  • Ability to support multiple time zones across the Americas locations

The salary range offered for this role is $70,125 - $86,625. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.   

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
